Full job description

Transform data into action and help shape the future of our borough—we’re all in on delivering insight that drives real change for our residents.

As a Senior Insight and Strategy Analyst at the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, you’ll turn complex data into clear, actionable insight that shapes real decisions. Working in our Corporate Strategy team, you’ll help ensure everything we do is grounded in evidence—supporting our ambition to be a greener, safer and fairer borough for all.

Working Style

You'll be based in the Borough for three days a week, playing a key role in serving the local community. Whether you're working on the frontline or behind the scenes, you'll be part of a dedicated team making a real difference to residents' lives.

What you’ll be doing

Your work will be incredibly varied, ranging from deep-dive data analysis to building strong, collaborative relationships across the entire organisation. A significant part of your role involves leading on corporate performance reporting, where you will coordinate the submission of data and commentary to ensure our progress is transparent and measurable.

You will not just report numbers; you will develop engaging narratives and stories from data, making clear links between technical intelligence and our organisational strategy to inform effective decision-making.

You will take a leading role in analytical projects, including the development of our Data Network and Data and Insight hub. This involves facilitating workshops focused on strategic thinking and working closely with service areas to develop meaningful performance measures.

By taking an end-user focused approach, you will create dynamic and accessible intelligence products, such as Power BI dashboards and GIS-based tools, that anticipate and meet the needs of the Council. You will also support other analysts in the team, helping them shape their work and develop their own strategic and analytical skills.

For further details, please review the Job Description and Person Specification

What you’ll bring

You will be educated to degree level or equivalent and have evidence of continuing professional development relevant to this role, including training in technologies associated with data and insight.

We are looking for a unique blend of technical expertise and strategic thinking. You should have exceptional analytical skills and experience working with large, unstructured datasets, alongside the ability to interrogate data using advanced statistical methodologies. Proficiency in Power BI, GIS, and advanced Excel is essential, as is the ability to learn new technologies quickly.

Beyond the numbers, you must be a storyteller with a curious mind. You should have extensive experience in using analysis to inform strategic decisions and implementing solutions to fill intelligence gaps.

You need to be a confident communicator, capable of tailoring complex information for non-technical audiences using high-impact visualisation techniques. Success in this role requires a proactive, logical approach to problem-solving and the ability to act decisively in a fast-paced environment. You will also need to demonstrate a deep commitment to our values of putting communities first, respect, integrity, and working together.

Why join us

At RBKC, we’re all in – investing in our people, our communities and our future. This role is ideal for someone who is highly analytical but also possesses a creative side, offering a rewarding opportunity to turn insight into tangible action.

You will have the scope to put your own stamp on the role, shaping how the organisation uses data and promoting better ways of working. We provide a supportive environment where your growth is a priority, offering professional development and the chance to work on high-profile, cross-cutting projects that directly impact the lives of our residents.

About us

Kensington and Chelsea is home to diverse communities, thriving businesses and unique local places. Everything we do is focused on supporting our residents, strengthening our approach and creating a fairer borough.

As a competent and caring Council, we take pride in our work every day, ensuring our services are delivered with care and competence. We listen to our residents, act with integrity and work together to build a borough that is greener, safer and fairer for all.

The we’re all in mindset is central to this role, whether that means untangling a complex dataset or collaborating across departments to solve a strategic challenge. In the Corporate Strategy team, we believe in rolling up our sleeves and making a difference. You’ll find that every challenge is a chance to grow, build new skills and play a part in strengthening our community.

Interview details

Interviews will be held on week commencing 3rd August 2026 (tbc if this will be on Ms Teams or in person)
