The role involves supporting the development, testing, and scale-up of CO2 electrolysis systems through lab-based experimentation and hardware translation. Responsibilities include cell fabrication, operating electrochemical equipment, and documenting results to optimize processes.
Candidates should have a degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrochemistry, or a related field with at least one year of analytical or wet lab experience. Proficiency in data analysis and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced startup environment are required.

What distinguishes us from other CO₂ reduction approaches is our proprietary catalyst, which enables an energy-efficient and selective pathway to existing valuable commodity chemicals, such as formic acid, ammonia, monoethylene glycol, sustainable aviation fuel, and more. Our products can access existing markets, and our economics are projected to be competitive or advantageous compared to current fossil-based production. We will be in a position to offer differentiated carbon-negative products at competitive prices, thereby having a significant impact on emissions and society. The RenewCO₂ leadership team includes experts in electrochemical catalysis and industrial systems, including Dr. Anders Laursen, Dr. Karin Calvinho, and Dr. Chock Karuppaiah, along with industry leaders such as Arne Ballantine (Founder, Ohmium; former Bloom Energy CEO) and Srushti Parhar (ex-Bloom Energy, software industry veteran). Additional leadership team members bring deep expertise from the chemicals and oil & gas sectors across U.S. and Japanese markets and will actively mentor and support selected candidates.
We are looking for an Electrochemical Engineer to support the development, testing, and scale-up of CO₂ electrolysis systems.
This role is ideal for candidates who enjoy working in the lab, building systems, troubleshooting experiments, and translating science into real hardware.
Type: Full-time, in person at our office/laboratory in Chikkaballapur (in the Bengaluru region).
