Full job description

Join a People & Culture team that's evolving and making a genuine impact across a global investment organisation.

At QIC, we're building a modern, high-performing People & Culture function focused on strategic partnership, exceptional employee experiences and helping our business leaders succeed. We are looking for an experienced Senior People & Culture Advisor to join us on an 18-month parental leave contract and play a key role supporting a diverse portfolio of corporate and investment businesses.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a capable HR professional who enjoys variety, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is energised by partnering with leaders to solve complex people challenges.

About the Role

Reporting to a P&C Business Partner, you will work closely with leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, providing practical, commercially focused HR advice and support across the employee lifecycle.

This role offers broad exposure across the People & Culture portfolio. You will support annual people processes, workforce planning, talent and succession activities, organisational change initiatives, employee engagement programs and leadership coaching, while partnering closely with leaders to address emerging people challenges and business priorities.

Success in this role requires someone who is comfortable working through ambiguity, can quickly build trusted relationships, and brings the energy, adaptability and curiosity needed to thrive in a collaborative and evolving environment.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Partnering with leaders to provide proactive HR advice and support across the employee lifecycle
  • Supporting talent, succession, workforce planning and performance management activities
  • Coordinating and delivering annual people processes including goal setting, performance reviews, calibration and workforce planning cycles
  • Assisting leaders to interpret employee engagement results and implement meaningful action plans
  • Coaching managers on people leadership, employee relations and performance matters
  • Preparing workforce data, reporting and insights to support decision-making
  • Supporting organisational and team effectiveness initiatives
  • Building strong relationships across a diverse range of business groups and stakeholders
  • Working collaboratively with Business Partners and specialist P&C teams to deliver integrated people solutions
  • Contributing to broader People & Culture projects and continuous improvement initiatives

About You

You're an experienced HR professional who combines sound judgement with a practical, business-focused approach.

You enjoy building strong relationships, navigating complexity and balancing strategic thinking with hands-on delivery. You are highly organised, adaptable and comfortable operating in environments where priorities shift and not everything is clearly defined.

You will bring:

  • Experience in a broad HR advisory or business partnering role
  • Exposure to talent management, workforce planning, succession planning and performance management processes
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
  • HR systems experience (Oracle preferred)
  • Confidence coaching and influencing leaders at varying levels of the organisation
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Strong analytical capability and confidence working with people data and insights
  • A practical, solutions-focused mindset
  • Experience working in professional services, financial services, corporate or similarly complex environments

What Will Make You Successful?

We're looking for someone who brings positive energy to the team and enjoys working collaboratively to achieve outcomes.

You'll be successful if you:

  • Are comfortable working through ambiguity and change
  • Take ownership and proactively drive outcomes
  • Build credibility and trust quickly
  • Enjoy partnering with leaders and solving business challenges
  • Are resilient, adaptable and highly organised
  • Bring a collaborative mindset and a willingness to roll up your sleeves when needed
  • Thrive in a team environment where priorities evolve and opportunities emerge
