The opportunity
Patient Advocate Foundation (PAF), we are actively seeking talented individuals to serve in part -time temporary roles on the PAF TotalAssist team as an Approval Specialist I.
We are seeking up to 20 part time/PRN employees to supplement our workforce beginning on or after August 10, 2026.
This part-time position offers a commitment of 15 to 29 hours per week, scheduled within the business hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. EST, Monday through Friday. For instance, following the initial training period, the weekly schedule may be structured as Monday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. These roles can be performed remotely and are anticipated to last between 3 to 6 months, in addition to the traditional peak volume period from January through March, at a rate of $21.00 per hour.
PAF is willing to accommodate flexible work schedule preferences and days of availability, given the part-time/PRN nature of the position. Furthermore, there is potential for these roles to transition into full-time positions with benefits if vacancies arise or if there is long-term growth within the program.
In this role, an Approval Specialist I will be responsible for engaging directly with patients and providers reaching out to the Patient Advocate Foundation’s (PAF) TotalAssist Program for support. This specialist will be tasked with guiding callers through the application process over the phone while clearly explaining the guidelines of the TotalAssist program. This position requires delivering customer service with both professionalism and integrity. It is essential to maintain strict confidentiality regarding all information and program guidelines acquired during employment with the Patient Advocate Foundation.
