The Bench Assistant supports the safe and environmentally conscious delivery of bulk explosives to clients at open-pit mining sites. They work closely with blasting supervisors to assist with the loading, tying, and firing of blasts while maintaining site safety standards.
The candidate must demonstrate resilience, integrity, and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with minimal supervision. Specific technical or legislative certifications may be required depending on the site and role.

El asistente de piso (Bench Assistant) del área a Cielo Abierto ayuda a brindar un servicio de calidad de entrega de explosivos a granel a los clientes de manera segura y con consciencia medioambiental en todo momento; trabaja en estrecha colaboración con el encargado de voladuras o con los supervisores de mesa de trabajo del sitio; y realiza tareas según las instrucciones asociadas con la carga, la atadura y el disparo de explosiones.
Garantiza la seguridad y la protección de sí mismo, de sus compañeros de trabajo, de los clientes, del público y del medio ambiente, con el objetivo de prestar los servicios operativos al volumen, el tipo de servicio y la calidad especificados por las expectativas del cliente.
Informa de todos los incidentes y accidentes inusuales de inmediato.
Participa en las charlas diarias de la caja de herramientas y en las reuniones mensuales de seguridad.
Lleva a cabo toda la capacitación necesaria para las operaciones, SHEC y requisitos específicos del sitio Mantiene toda la capacitación personal en comparación con la matriz de capacitación de Orica para su función.
Mantiene los estándares de mantenimiento de casa requeridos. Notifica a la gerencia del sitio de Orica sobre cualquier variación en las especificaciones, la apariencia o el rendimiento del producto.
