We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician II with strong experience maintaining material handling equipment (MHE) including forklifts, pallet jacks, and reach trucks, ensuring smooth operations in our fast-paced cold storage environment. Candidates with exposure to industrial refrigeration systems, particularly ammonia refrigeration, are highly preferred.
Position Overview
As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing a diverse range of material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, turrets, aerial lifts, and more. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, experience with hydraulic systems, and the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently. Additionally, the role will support refrigeration operations by assisting with routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of ammonia refrigeration equipment under the guidance of senior refrigeration personnel.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on MHE such as forklifts, pallet jacks, turrets, and aerial lifts.
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, implementing effective solutions.
Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure equipment reliability.
Assist with routine inspections and preventative maintenance activities on industrial refrigeration equipment, including ammonia systems.
Support refrigeration team activities, including monitoring system performance, equipment inspections, and reporting abnormalities.
Maintain accurate service records, documenting repairs and parts usage.
Follow all safety regulations and company policies to maintain a secure work environment.
Collaborate with the maintenance team to improve efficiency and minimize operational disruptions.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience: Previous experience in forklift maintenance, automotive, diesel, or industrial maintenance preferred.
Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
Certifications: OSHA, forklift certification, or related technical training is a plus.
Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in cold storage environments, and operate tools/equipment safely.
