JOB TITLE: Maintenance 

STATUS: Non-Exempt

DEPARTMENT: Outside Plant

REPORTS TO: Director of Outside Plant

FULL/PART-TIME: Part-time – Flexible Hours 10-20 hours per week

LOCATION: Holland Patent

THE MISSION:

Ensures all building maintenance is kept up to date and in good working order and creates a safe environment for all employees.

SUMMARY ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Schedules and coordinate with outside vendors related to building needs
• Assists and leads in the execution of building projects
• Indoor and outdoor building and equipment maintenance
• Building safety and cleaning
• Equipment operation

JOB DUTIES:

General Maintenance included but not limited to the following: 

• Upkeeps the landscaping and lawns  
• Assists with snow removal from driveways, rooftops, and sidewalks 
• Basic building maintenance duties such as changing bulbs, changing electrical outlets, painting, minor plumbing repairs, sheetrock repairs, garbage removal 
• May operate heavy equipment such as a forklift, backhoes, and skid steer
• Assists with building safety procedures such as maintenance of fire extinguishers, first-aid kits, smoke detectors, HVAC maintenance, and coordination etc. 
• Assists with preventative maintenance on tools and equipment  
• May assist with cleaning such as window washing, siding and washing and cleaning of trucks

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None 

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Experience using hand and power tools
• Must be able to provide own hand tools
• Experience using a lawn mower and snow blower
• Small engine maintenance experience

PREFERRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma
• Forklift certification

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

A valid driver's license or ability to access transportation to attend work group and organization meetings is necessary.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to reach, sit, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, use fingers, grasp, feel, talk, hear, and perform repetitive motions. Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

EQUIPMENT AND MACHINES USED:

Ability to operate the following equipment/machinery: various hand and power tools, generators, lawn mowers, and snow blowers.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

The employee is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, noise, vibration, hazards, atmospheric conditions, and oils.
