The Volunteer Director is responsible for developing and overseeing a comprehensive volunteer program that includes recruitment, retention, and the creation of virtual volunteering opportunities. They will implement systems to track service hours and collaborate across departments to foster a culture of volunteerism aligned with the organization's mission.
A bachelor's degree and experience in project management, strategic planning, or volunteerism are preferred. Candidates must also meet specific spiritual qualifications and be able to perform physical tasks, including operating a forklift and lifting up to 50 pounds.

The Volunteer Director promotes the vision for easy and meaningful volunteering experiences, and ensures the program aligns with OMC’s mission, values, and strategic plan. Through program and systems development, the Volunteer Director utilizes their skills to enhance and grow volunteering options at all program sites and virtual options, supporting the organization’s work from anywhere. This position champions a culture of volunteer inclusion among all staff, encouraging volunteer involvement in every area of the organization. This position requires an understanding of nonprofit organizational structure, volunteer utilization, and the development of scalable systems.
