What’s This Role About
The Mintz Group is looking for a Business Management Analyst to serve at its headquarters office in New York, NY as a key analytical and planning resource responsible for developing, managing, and monitoring Mintz Group’s operating and capital budgets at both the business-unit and enterprise level.
What Are Your Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and evaluate Mintz Group’s financial and operational processes to support efficiency, accuracy, scalability, and strong internal controls across the organization.
- Assess the effectiveness of core business systems, including Aderant, NetSuite, and Datarails, by reviewing end-to-end workflows, data structures, reporting practices, and cross-functional requirements.
- Develop data-driven recommendations to improve system-supported processes across budgeting, billing, timekeeping, accounts payable and receivable, month-end close, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Demonstrate strong analytical judgment by distilling complex financial data into clear, actionable insights and partnering with finance leadership, business leaders, and operational stakeholders to support informed decision-making.
- Support the design and delivery of management reporting, dashboards, and analytical tools by preparing SQL-based datasets, validating data integrity, and translating business questions into meaningful financial analysis.
- Document current-state and future-state processes, identify operational gaps or bottlenecks, and recommend enhancements that reduce manual effort, improve data accuracy, and strengthen governance.
- Participate in the testing, rollout, and adoption of new system functionality, reporting enhancements, and workflow improvements.
- Collaborate closely with the CFO, finance leadership, operations, and IT partners to align budgeting, reporting, and process improvements with organizational objectives and promote consistent use of system-enabled best practices across the firm.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Technology, or a closely related field, plus two (2) years of experience as business analyst, financial analyst, project manager, or a related role.
- Must have experience in:
- Leading or supporting the development and management of operating budgets
- Preparing business-unit and consolidated financial reports; performing variance and trend analysis
- Building financial models or forecasting tools
- Partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to translate financial data into clear insights that support planning and decision-making
