Role Background
The Mintz Group is seeking inquisitive, detail-oriented and highly motivated investigators for its office in Mumbai. As an investigator, you will be responsible for conducting in-depth research on companies and individuals across the world to help clients uncover legal, regulatory and reputational risks. You will join a team of bright, curious and collaborative investigators who speak more than 30 languages in our offices across the world.
Responsibilities
Conduct due diligence research on people and companies around the world to assist clients in hiring and investment decisions;
Dig into public records and data repositories, from complex litigation records and SEC filings to corporate records and regulatory actions;
Analyze and distill findings into comprehensive written reports for clients;
Brief case managers and partners on findings in a clear and professional manner;
Conduct other types of investigations, such as research to support litigators and compliance professionals.
Required Skills
Undergraduate degree in relevant fields such as journalism, political science, international relations, criminal justice and forensic science from an accredited university; advanced degree a plus;
Ability to analyze, summarize and communicate large amounts of complex information in a concise and compelling manner;
Strong and creative research skills;
Strong writing skills and superior attention to detail;
Ability to juggle casework and meet strict, often overlapping, deadlines;
Sophisticated knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Word and Excel);
English fluency and strong writing skills in English mandatory.
Desired Skills
0 - 3 years prior work / internship experience in research, journalism, law or finance;
Working proficiency in another language;
Experience with public records databases – for example, Westlaw, Nexis or Accurint – and open source research.
