About the Ministry for Regulation
The Ministry for Regulation is a small government agency with a big job to do.
We’re focused on lifting quality across all regulatory systems and supporting agencies with regulatory responsibilities to align with good practice. We want it to be easier for businesses to innovate, grow and comply, while still ensuring the benefits from regulation that we take for granted won’t change.
We are a small group of dedicated professionals, working in a 'can do' environment.
About the role
We’re seeking a Principal Advisor to join our People and Operations team for six months. The People and Operations team is responsible for human resources, facilities, administration and personnel/physical security.
The Ministry is just over two years old and we’ve recently launched our first People Strategy – it’s an exciting time to join us. We have a number of projects we need support with progressing and we’re seeking someone to complement the team’s existing skillset so we can keep moving forward.
About you
You’ll be an experienced HR professional who ideally brings expertise in at least two of the following areas:
Organisational Development
Learning and Development
Employment Relations
Health, Safety and Wellbeing
People Analytics and Insights
In addition, we’re seeking someone who:
Has a continuous improvement mindset
Is comfortable using modern tools such as M365 and Copilot
Has the ability to quickly build strong working relationships
Is pragmatic, has good judgement and is able to work autonomously when needed
Is willing to roll their sleeves up and help across a range of areas
Is experienced coaching more junior team members

Salary range: $127,142 - $168,973
