Position Summary
Metro Credit Union is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Commercial Loan Assistant to support our Commercial Sales team. This role serves as the transaction coordinator for commercial lending activities, ensuring loan opportunities move efficiently from application through closing. The Commercial Loan Assistant will manage documentation, coordinate stakeholders, track loan milestones, and provide administrative support to Relationship Managers, allowing them to focus on business development and member relationships. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional service to members, prospective members, and colleagues through professional, responsive, and courteous communication.
- Serve as the primary administrative and transaction support resource for the Commercial Sales team, partnering closely with Commercial Relationship Managers.
- Collect, organize, track, and maintain borrower, guarantor, and loan documentation throughout the commercial lending process.
- Monitor documentation checklists, follow up on outstanding items, and ensure files are complete prior to underwriting submission.
- Assist with obtaining and maintaining required financial reporting documents, including tax returns, borrowing base certificates, personal financial statements, and interim financials.
- Maintain and distribute Commercial Lending pipeline reports and track application status, approvals, closing timelines, and outstanding conditions.
- Coordinate communication among borrowers, attorneys, title companies, appraisers, Credit Administration, Loan Operations, and other internal and external partners.
- Prepare, distribute, and track loan documentation packages, ensuring timely execution and return of documents.
- Establish and maintain complete and compliant electronic loan files and coordinate third-party due diligence activities, including appraisals, title work, flood determinations, UCC searches, environmental reports, and other underwriting requirements.
- Review executed loan documents, track post-closing requirements, and coordinate receipt of recorded documents and outstanding conditions.
- Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding commercial loan transactions, documentation requirements, and loan status updates.
- Provide administrative support for meetings, calendars, department initiatives, special projects, and process improvement efforts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of commercial banking, commercial lending operations, or related financial services experience strongly preferred.
- Strong technology skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, SharePoint, document management systems, CRM platforms, and commercial loan origination systems.
- Basic knowledge of commercial loan documentation and closing requirements.
- Ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential member and business information.
- Exceptional organizational and administrative skills with strong attention to detail.
Compensation Disclosure
$30.57 - $41.35 / hour
