About Camden

Camden is changing on the inside to make life better for everyone. Our residents and communities are at the heart of everything we do. We’re home to the most important conversations happening today and we’re making radical social change a reality, so that nobody gets left behind.  Here’s where you can help decide a better future for us all.

What You’ll Be Doing / How You’ll Be Involved

Are you looking to work in an innovative Educational Psychology team in a Central London borough?

Camden Educational Psychology Service (EPS) is seeking a HCPC registered Educational Psychologist (or a Year 3 trainee anticipating registration) to join our innovative, vibrant and creative workforce. As part of Camden’s ambitious SEND transformation programme, we are expanding our capacity-building offer and recruiting to our Experts at Hand model, which places EPs at the centre of systemic, early intervention and inclusion-focused work with schools and settings.

Our service has grown to deliver a wide range of preventative and consultative work, including Trauma Informed Practice and enhancing inclusive practice in mainstream schools through partnerships such as the Neuroinclusive Education Network (NEN), Partnership in Neurodiversity in Schools (PiNS) and our locally run Rebuilding Bridges programme. We are committed to sustaining high-quality delivery across a broad range of secondments and our well-regarded wellbeing offer in diverse settings, including schools.

We offer excellent CPD opportunities and work in partnership with CAMHS, Early Help, Social Care, specialist teachers and health teams supporting children borough-wide and beyond. You will be able to develop your skills Dynamic Assessment, VIG, VERP, and technology-based assessment using Q-interactive and Q-Global. Camden has a dynamic and collaborative education community with good and outstanding schools. You will work at different levels, from individual children and young people to supporting strategic developments at a borough wide level. Camden values early intervention and the contribution that educational psychologists make in a wide range of contexts

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS. Please note Camden also offers the DBS update service.

All About You
The ideal candidate will have an excellent understanding of psychological frameworks and their application in a range of contexts, across the 0 – 25 age range. They will feel confident working in a range of community settings. The successful candidate will have an excellent understanding of SEND and Equalities legislation and a sound knowledge of children's psychological development, together with skills and experience in delivery of psychological interventions. They will also contribute skills in consultation, assessment and supporting settings to deliver interventions and review outcomes for vulnerable children, including those with SEN and Disabilities and children who are Looked After.

To be considered for this post it is essential that you hold a qualification in Educational Psychology (e.g. Doctorate or Masters), which permits Graduate Registration with the British Psychological Society, alongside a current HCPC Registration or you are a Year 3 trainee anticipating HCPC registration in the autumn term.
