About the Role 💡

We don’t always have a trading seat open - but we’re always interested in meeting sharp, competitive people who want to trade.

This is an Expression of Interest. By registering, you’re putting yourself on our radar for current and upcoming Trader opportunities across our markets and desks. We review every submission and reach out when there’s a fit, whether that’s now or down the track as the business grows.

Our traders own real risk and real decisions from early on. You’ll work in a fast-moving environment where good judgement, discipline, and a constant drive to improve matter more than a perfect CV. We hire at a range of levels, from early-career traders we’ll train up, through to experienced traders and market makers who can step in and run a book.

Your Mission at Life Trading 🎯

Trading & Execution:

• Execute trading strategies across our markets and products with discipline and precision
• Monitor positions and manage risk in real time, in line with firm limits and frameworks
• Identify, test, and act on trading opportunities as market conditions evolve
• Take ownership of your P&L and the decisions behind it

Analysis & Improvement:

• Analyse market behaviour, flow, and performance to refine your approach
• Continuously review trades and outcomes to sharpen decision-making
• Stay across relevant market events, products, and structural changes

Collaboration:

• Work closely with quantitative researchers and technologists to improve strategies and tooling
• Share ideas openly and contribute to a culture of collective learning
• Help mentor and develop newer traders as you grow

What We’re Looking For 👀

• Strong numerical, analytical, and probabilistic reasoning
• Sound judgement and composure when making decisions under pressure
• Genuine risk awareness and the discipline to stick to a process
• A competitive, self-driven mindset and a hunger to keep improving
• Clear communication and the ability to work well within a team
• A real interest in markets and how they work

Bonus Points For ✅

• Prior experience trading equities, futures, options, FX, or crypto
• Previous proprietary trading or market-making experience
• A background in maths, physics, engineering, computer science, or economics
• A demonstrated competitive edge — e.g. poker, competitive gaming, sport, or trading competitions
• Familiarity with derivatives, pricing, or market microstructure
