Assists with daily kitchen operations including meal preparation, cooking, and portioning for Head Start services. Responsible for maintaining food safety standards and delivering meals to classrooms and offsite programs.
Requires a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of work experience, preferably in a kitchen setting. Must obtain Food Safety certification within 30 days of hire.
Benefit Eligibility:
This position is eligible for Standard Benefits which includes dental, medical, and vision insurance, paid time off and holidays, retirement matching, wellness programs, and tuition reimbursement.Assist in the production, cookery, preparation, and clean-up for all meal services by the direction of the Head Start Chef, Kitchen Manager, and/or Supervisor.
Maintain food safety and sanitation practices during their kitchen and delivery tasks outlined by Head Start food safety procedures and by the Colorado Department of Public Health.
Organize and deliver meals to the Jefferson County Head Start Arvada classrooms, and assist with offsite programming by supporting delivery driver duties.
Required - must obtain Food Safety certification within 30 days of hire.
Preferred - One year of experience working in a kitchen setting
