The Opportunity

The CE Accreditation Officer is responsible for supporting the integrity and compliance of the Continuing Education Accreditation Program by evaluating and recommending applications and amendments in accordance with legislation, Council Rules, and established program guidelines. The role maintains accurate accreditation records, supports program development, and provides timely communication and guidance to education providers to maintain public trust and professional standards in the insurance industry.



Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review continuing education accreditation program applications, reapplications, and renewals; requests for course amendments or termination of courses in accordance with governing legislation, Council Rules, program guidelines, and department procedures
  • Recommend course applications that meet standards under program and organizational criteria or refer with recommendations, where possible, any cases that do not meet standards or indicate suitability or other issues, to relevant subject matter expert(s)
  • Identify risks, gaps, or areas of non-compliance, and escalate complex or precedent-setting cases with informed analysis and recommendations
  • Engage subject matter experts as required to inform decision-making
  • Manage integrity of approved courses through ongoing monitoring and audit activities to ensure continued compliance with program standards
  • Analyze accreditation outcomes and audit findings to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for program improvement
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of accreditation policies, processes, and quality assurance mechanisms to strengthen program effectiveness
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and defensible accreditation records to support regulatory oversight, transparency, and audit readiness
  • Ensure accreditation data and documentation systems are current, reliable, and aligned with organizational requirements
  • Communicate accreditation decisions, requirements, and feedback clearly and professionally to education providers, supporting transparency and understanding
  • Contribute to designing and implementing accreditation projects and programs
  • Contribute to accreditation initiatives, program development activities, and cross-functional projects that advance the effectiveness of the CE Accreditation Program
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as required to support program priorities and organizational objectives

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in course development, learning and development, or a minimum of 3 years of experience in training program curriculum, competency assessment
  • Two-year post-secondary diploma. An undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline is desirable
  • Insurance industry knowledge is an asset
  • Experience in compliance and regulation is an asset but not required
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to analyze information, synthesize findings, and prepare clear reports
  • Ability to take initiative, problem-solve, make decisions, and be accountable
  • Demonstrated analytical and judgement skills
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work with several concurrent tasks, and the flexibility to work with changing priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to exercise tact and discretion

Minimum to Midpoint Salary Range: $67,094 - $83,867 per annum.
Upon hire, new employees will be placed in a starting salary between the minimum and P50 (midpoint) of the salary range. The P50 of the range represents an employee that possesses full job knowledge, qualifications, and experience for the position.
