Assemble electrical control panels by mounting components and wiring them according to schematics and wire lists. Ensure all panels meet quality standards and provide occasional training assistance to other assembly employees.

Requirements

Requires a high school diploma and at least two years of experience in electrical assembly or a related field. Candidates must be able to lift up to 75 pounds and stand for 8 hours a day.

Full job description

Shape your future at IEWC! As an employee-owner, you will be a valued team member, contributing to something bigger and gaining skills that will set your career up for hypergrowth!

General Description: Assemble electrical control panels in an efficient manner consistent with the standards of Simcona. Assemblers must have the ability to understand and follow simple assembly instructions and display genuine interest in satisfying our customers.  Must be able to layout and mount components, including drilling, tapping and cutting of sub-panels and enclosures. Must be able to wire assembled components from simple schematics and/or wire lists. An Electrical Assembler ‘B’ may be asked from time-to-time to assist in training or otherwise helping other Electrical Assembly employees.

Essential job functions:

  • Have the ability to perform all of the Electrical Assembler ‘C’ job functions
  • Have a basic working knowledge of applicable electrical standards such as NEMA, NEC, UL, IEC.
  • Must have ability to work efficiently without direct supervision.
  • Independently build standard panels from prints and schematics
  • Interpret wiring diagrams and panel layouts with minimal clarification
  • Perform drilling and mechanical fabrication for component mounting
  • Select proper hardware, drill sizes, and mounting methods
  • Hand-wire panels directly from schematics, not from wire labels alone
  • Perform manual crimping using approved tools for terminals, ferrules, and common lug sizes
  • Validate wire routing, separation, and termination quality
  • Apply workmanship standards consistently for routing, labeling, torque, and cleanliness
  • Produce repeatable, QC-ready panels without reliance on A-level rework

Work Experience Requirements:

  • Two or more years’ experience in electrical assembly or related electrical field.
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to stand for 8 hours a day
  • Ability to learn and follow quality procedures, including ISO9001:2015 requirements

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

*The above represents the essential job functions that you are assigned to perform in your job.  If you are unable to perform these essential duties, please see Human Resources as IEWC may be able to provide reasonable accommodations against the ADA requirements.
