Candidates must have at least 5 years of driving experience with a favorable record to be eligible for insurance. Physical ability to lift 40+ pounds and the capacity to pass a forklift training course are required.

 SUMMARY: The ReStore Donation Ambassador is responsible for retrieving donations from residential and corporate donors during ReStore operating hours driving our Affiliate vehicles. This role's primary responsibility will be to serve as an ambassador for the Houston Habitat for Humanity Mission. This includes building customer and donor relationships by providing friendly and prompt service. In addition, stocking merchandise, pricing items to sell and keeping the store clean daily. Other duties such as event support and brand awareness via our social media platforms and online store task will be on an as-need basis. Ambassador hours are Monday-Saturday 8am-5pm. Special events hours will vary based on event needs. 

Requirements

The employee must be able to perform the following job functions:• Operate Affiliate Vehicles in a safe, lawful, and courteous manner.• Maintain cleanliness of trucks interior and exterior (cab/daily; exterior/weekly)• Regular maintenance checks to always ensure the readiness of truck and equipment including   reporting any maintenance concerns to supervisor Restore Management. 

 • Loading/unloading of donations to all Affiliate ReStores in a safe and efficient manner.

  • Professional and courteous interaction with donors including utmost care and concern for personal   property.
  • Assist with donation processing and store needs when not assigned to truck.
  • Able to train and pass fort lift training course.
  • Drivers must be eligible to be added to Habitat vehicle insurance- this requires at least 5 years of   driving experience and a 

  favorable driving record.

  • Enthusiasm and commitment to always provide excellent customer service.
  • Effective multi-tasking skills for a dynamic environment
  • Communicate mission of Habitat to all external clients
  • Assist with Habitat special events as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by Donation Manager or Store Manager

.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. Responsibilities may require the ability to lift 40+ pounds, using proper safety equipment. 

Work may require climbing ladders, considerable standing, bending, kneeling, and reaching awkward and tiring positions, especially at outreach events. Operation of equipment may be required at any time.

Duties are performed in an indoors environment, however, on occasion the employee may have to help unload a truck or load a customer’s vehicle in an outdoor environment. 

Elements of an outdoor environment may include, but are not limited to, hot or cold temperatures, rain, and/or wind.
