The Underwriter analyzes homeowner applications and property information to assess risk profiles and make investment eligibility recommendations. They review appraisal reports and collaborate with Sales and Operations teams to ensure accuracy and compliance with guidelines.
Candidates should have prior underwriting experience and a strong interest in real estate and fintech. A bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field is preferred.

As an Underwriter, you'll play a critical role in Hometap's home equity investment process, making recommendations on both the homes and the homeowners we work with. You'll analyze a broad set of home and homeowner information to assess the risk profile of each application and make investment eligibility recommendations against the standards in our underwriting guidelines. This is a strong fit if you bring underwriting experience, a passion for real estate, and exceptional organizational skills.
The base salary for this role is $75,000 with additional earning potential through a performance-based monthly incentive. You’ll also receive meaningful equity, giving you a real stake in the company’s growth and success.
