What the hiring manager says

This is an opportunity to join our agile, fast-paced, and versatile team of project professionals. The role will work closely with our team of Project Managers, Change Managers and PMO team and will support the wider organization with high class project delivery and participate in the continuous growth and improvement of the GSMA.

Anna Campbell, Head of Project Services & Change

About the Team

The Project Services Team in the GSMA provides project management capabilities to deliver change initiatives across the mobile industry. Working in close partnership with and subject matter experts within the GSMA and from across the mobile industry, the Project Services team manages a wide range of projects in all areas of the organisation, including Technology, Product Development, Marketing and Events, as well as internal facing projects in IT, Finance and HR.

As part of the project delivery, the Project Services team also provides change expertise to GSMA projects to guide the implementation of change initiatives within the organisation.

Project Services is the delivery engine for projects across the GSMA. As well as delivering projects to agreed cost, quality and timelines, the Project Services team maintains a strong focus on delivering benefits to our colleagues, our members and to the mobile industry.

About the Role

As a Change Manager in the Project Services team, you will be part of the delivery of GSMA projects and provide change management support to the team delivering these projects.

You will be asked to provide change management support to the Project Managers to deliver successful projects.

You will:

  • Lead change management activities, using tools and processes to maximise adoption of the change

  • Perform impact assessments across projects and work with the Project Manager to integrate change management activities into the project plan

  • Develop and execute communication and engagement plans to inform, engage an educated project stakeholder and impacted employees, in line with the project objectives

  • Support Project Managers with managing change throughout the project life cycle

  • Develop training plans as needed and work with the project team and the GSMA People Development team to provide training as required

  • Define and track success measures of change activities

  • Provide information and support to the Head of Project Services

  • Work effectively alongside the Project Services PMO, to support best practice and maintain change management standards

  • Play an active role in ensuring good stakeholder communications from the project team

  • Become an advocate for embedding change management principles across the GSMA

About You

This is a hands-on role with successful candidates required to be self-motivated and able to work effectively, with limited supervision.

As a Change Manager you will need the following skills:

  • A solid understanding of how people go through change and the change process

  • Experience with and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools

  • Experience of delivering training and change activities as part of projects and programmes

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Good attention to detail and use of ‘plain’ English in communications

  • An ability to use a range of communications methods effectively, including email, instant messaging, telephone and face-to-face conversation

  • High aptitude for stakeholder identification and management

  • Networks well with new colleagues or those in other locations/departments

  • A good understanding of project management practices, processes, tools and phases of the project lifecycle – basic understanding of waterfall, agile, or other delivery methods

  • Experience of working in an international and cross-cultural environment would be beneficial

  • A willingness and confidence to present in team meetings

  • Good office IT skills, at least including Microsoft Office products, especially Outlook, Word and Excel as well as Microsoft SharePoint and Teams

  • Change Management certification or equivalent experience desired

About your Skills:

Communication

Communicates complex change initiatives in clear, plain English, tailoring messaging across multiple channels (email, Teams, workshops, and presentations) to ensure stakeholder understanding and engagement. Develops and delivers structured communication and engagement plans aligned to project objectives, translating impact assessments and change activities into compelling, actionable narratives that support adoption and minimise resistance.

Delivery

Drives end-to-end delivery of change activities across multiple projects, integrating change plans into the broader project lifecycle. Works closely with Project Managers to embed change interventions (impact assessments, comms, training, success metrics) into delivery plans, ensuring outputs are delivered on time, to quality, and aligned with PMO standards and best practices.

Influence

Applies practical change management expertise to influence project teams and stakeholders, ensuring change activities are prioritised and effectively executed. Builds credibility through evidence-based recommendations and hands-on support, enabling teams to adopt structured change approaches and embedding change management principles across GSMA projects.

Stakeholder Management

Builds and maintains effective working relationships across project teams, PMO, senior stakeholders, and cross-functional groups in an international environment. Proactively identifies impacted stakeholders, manages expectations, and ensures consistent engagement throughout the project lifecycle to drive alignment, adoption, and successful change outcomes.

Agility

Adapts quickly to shifting project priorities, timelines, and stakeholder needs, working effectively with limited supervision. Demonstrates flexibility in applying change management approaches across different project types (waterfall, agile, hybrid), independently resolving challenges and reprioritising activities to maintain delivery momentum and support evolving business needs.
