Founding Head of Marketing

ABOUT MINERVA

Minerva builds AI for marketing leaders. Our platform lets marketers focus on telling the story of their brand while AI agents handle the operationally intensive work: data management, segment creation, analytics, measurement and reporting.

Everything is built on Minerva's proprietary consumer graph: an identity and attribute layer covering 270M+ U.S. consumers across 2,000+ through-time attributes. On top of it sit two agentic systems built in partnership with OpenAI: an Agentic Data Engineer that unifies and standardizes a brand's first-party data in hours, and an Agentic Data Scientist that trains robust targeting models at scale. Together, our data and platform improve the quality of a brand's first-party data, lift campaign performance and give marketing teams their time back.

We work with leading consumer brands across categories, including the NBA, Capital One, Hard Rock Stadium Group / Miami Dolphins, Wander and Trust & Will. We've raised $20M from The General Partnership, 8VC, Lingotto, NBA Investments, Topology Ventures, Future Positive, Background Capital and many others. Our team brings together operators and investors from Citadel, Dentsu, Bridgewater, Meta Superintelligence and Lazard, alongside researchers from Berkeley, MIT, Stanford and Cambridge.

THE ROLE

Minerva has grown on product and word of mouth: the kind of organic pull most companies spend millions trying to manufacture. Customers find us, our network sends us deals, and the product earns the rest. Now we're building the marketing engine to match the product. You'll be the founding owner of that engine: an always-on system of content, funnels, lifecycle, and demand that compounds month over month. Our own growth should be the sharpest proof of what the platform does, and you're the operator who makes that true.

One thing to know about the bar: category creation is brand work here. Our category is not saturated with heavy search volume yet - the story, the point of view, and the taste level ARE the growth strategy. And because our marketing is a live demo of a marketing platform, the brand bar is unusually high. But this is brand expressed through a compounding engine with a pipeline number attached.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Build and run hands-on:

  • An always-on content + SEO engine: blogs, organic, and the steady publishing cadence that compounds into inbound

  • Funnels, landing pages, and conversion: build the paths from interest to demo to onboarded customer, and make each step convert better

  • Lifecycle marketing: email, nurture, onboarding flows, the system that turns a signup into a habit

  • Product marketing for a hybrid motion that leans sales-led. This is a load-bearing part of the seat. You own the messaging hierarchy - the one-liner, the value props by persona, the proof points - and keep it current as the product moves. You turn capabilities into customer language and test which framings actually land. The narrative assets you write power our self-serve entry points (platform demos, API trials) and, above all, arm the BDR-led mid-market and exec-led enterprise cycles where deals actually close.

  • Sales enablement: arm the sales motion that's worked so far with the assets and narrative to scale it

  • Launches and the win/loss loop. Own the release calendar - name it, tier it, write it, brief sales before it ships. Run win/loss interviews and feed what you learn back into positioning, product, and the deck.

  • Pricing and packaging support. Partner with the founders on how features map to plans, what the pricing page says, and the order-form language enterprise buyers see.

  • Marketing ops, analytics and attribution: own the tracking so every dollar and every demo is measurable. Non-negotiable.

  • Founder-led amplification: systematize, support, and scale what the founders already do on social

Own the strategy for, and direct partners on:

  • Paid media: set the strategy, own the funnel and creative direction; specialist agencies run the buying and optimization under you

  • PR, launches and co-marketing: strategize and quarterback; agency partners execute

  • Creative production (video, design): direct it to our bar; production happens out of house

  • GTM engineering: our GTM engineer(s), the builders of our outbound, enrichment, and signal machinery report into this seat; you set their roadmap

WHAT YOU HAVE

  • Built a growth function before, ideally as an early/founding marketing hire: you've built engines, not optimized one channel inside a big team

  • Full-stack range: you can stand up a content/SEO program, ship a landing page and a lifecycle flow, and direct and hold accountable paid/creative agencies.

  • Have real product-marketing chops: you've written positioning a sales team actually used, and you can point to a deal your materials helped close.

  • You live in the numbers: you can pull the data, trust your attribution, and name results you personally drove

  • You use AI to do the work of a team and treat that as the baseline

  • Located in or willing to relocate to New York City

NICE TO HAVES

  • You ran marketing solo end-to-end at a startup for a meaningful period of time (highest-slope profile for this seat)

  • SQL and attribution fluency

  • You've marketed something with no category yet and made the category legible

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

  • The number you own is qualified pipeline - not traffic, not signups

  • First 90 days: the content/SEO engine is publishing on a real cadence. The core funnel (landing page to demo to onboarding) is instrumented and converting measurably better. Attribution is trustworthy. You know our buyer cold and the sales narrative is codified - messaging hierarchy, deck, pricing-page story - so the founders have stopped writing their own materials.

  • First 6 months: a compounding engine. Inbound pipeline growing from channels you built, lifecycle turning demos into retained customers, paid and PR running cleanly under your direction, a GTM engineering roadmap you direct, and an earned point of view on what to keep in-house vs. rent.

COMPENSATION

$190,000–$240,000 base salary, depending on experience. Meaningful early-stage equity - this is a founding seat and the grant reflects it. Medical, dental and vision.

Apply: [email protected] + cc [email protected] | Subject: Head of Marketing Candidate.

Skip the cover letter - send us one of: (a) a content or SEO engine you built and what it compounded into, or (b) a funnel you built or took from leaky to converting, with the numbers. We read every one.
