Financial Services & Insurance is a core and growing sector for Gate One. We work extensively with clients across the insurance market, supporting organisations through large‑scale transformation programmes spanning operating model change, digital and technology transformation, data, regulation and people‑led change.
As our insurance work continues to grow, we are seeking high‑calibre Senior Consultants with insurance sector experience to deliver impactful client work and help strengthen our FS & Insurance capability.
The opportunity
Senior Consultants play a pivotal role at Gate One: shaping and driving workstreams, building trusted client relationships, and applying strong consulting craft to deliver high‑quality transformation outcomes.
You will take intellectual ownership of discrete areas of complex programmes, working collaboratively with clients and colleagues to deliver clarity, pace and meaningful results. You will work closely with insurance clients while building your expertise across a range of transformation topics and contributing to the continued growth of Gate One's FS & Insurance offering.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced consulting environment and wants to deepen their exposure to insurance transformation programmes while continuing to grow as a consultant.
You will
Lead and contribute to high‑value insurance transformation delivery
Lead discrete workstreams within broader transformation programmes for insurance clients, shaping analysis, designing solutions and producing high‑quality deliverables.
Build trusted client relationships, contributing insight, structure and problem‑solving to help clients navigate complex change.
Work autonomously while collaborating effectively with internal and client teams.
Develop a strong understanding of client challenges across areas such as underwriting, claims, distribution, risk, operations or broader business transformation.
Support business development and account growth
Contribute to business development through relationship‑building, supporting client meetings, shaping propositions and developing credentials.
Play an active role in bids and proposals, supporting senior colleagues in converting opportunities.
Help identify opportunities to extend and deepen Gate One's work within existing insurance accounts.
Help build Gate One
Contribute to capability and sector communities, internal initiatives, thought leadership and knowledge sharing.
Support and mentor junior team members, contributing to a culture of high performance and development.
Role‑model Gate One's values of empathy, candour, humility, grit, entrepreneurship and aspiration in all interactions.
About you
You must have around 4–6 years' experience gained within management consulting firms. This is a mandatory requirement for the role. We are not able to consider candidates whose experience sits solely within industry roles.
You will also bring:
Insurance sector experience, with exposure to insurers, brokers, MGAs or other insurance market participants.
Experience leading workstreams with autonomy, shaping content, structuring analysis, managing stakeholders and co‑creating solutions.
Experience delivering transformation work, which may include digital and technology, operating model change, regulation, data, customer transformation or people‑led change.
The confidence to engage in conversations around common insurance concepts such as underwriting, claims, distribution, risk or reinsurance.
Experience coaching or overseeing junior colleagues or client team members.
Strong communication skills, emotional intelligence and the ability to build rapport quickly.
Curiosity, versatility and a proactive approach to learning and contributing to firm‑wide initiatives.
Interest in contributing to business development, whether through supporting BD conversations, developing propositions or contributing to bids.
Experience in the London Market and/or reinsurance sector is valuable, though not essential.
