Job Summary

Role Summary :

We are seeking a motivated and technically strong Software Engineer 2 to join our team. This role combines Production Support and Application Development responsibilities, requiring an individual who can effectively monitor and support business critical applications while also contributing to defect resolution, application enhancements, and ongoing development initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have experience building and supporting cloud-native applications, preferably on Microsoft Azure, with strong programming skills in Python and a passion for learning new technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Support & Application Monitoring

• Monitor the health and performance of production applications and services.
• Perform daily operational checks, application validations, and system health assessments.
• Monitor and manage scheduled jobs using Control-M and other enterprise scheduling tools.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve production incidents in a timely manner.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures to minimize recurring issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure application stability, reliability, and availability.
• Participate in on-call support rotations as required.

Application Maintenance & Enhancements

• Analyze and resolve VITs and security related findings.
• Implement bug fixes and application improvements based on business and operational needs.
• Develop and maintain cloud native applications and services.
• Contribute to application modernization and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
• Support testing, deployment, and release activities.

Required Qualifications:

• 3–4 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Hands on experience developing and supporting cloud native applications, preferably on Microsoft Azure.
• Strong programming skills in Python.
• Thorough understanding of Object Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and software development best practices.
• Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, or similar.
• Experience troubleshooting application issues in production environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn new technologies and programming languages.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Microsoft Azure services and cloud-native architecture.
• Experience with REST API design, development, and integration.
• Familiarity with modern web development technologies and frameworks.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Knowledge of application monitoring, logging, and observability tools.
