What is the role of an Account Manager at Fipto?

As Fipto's first dedicated Account Manager, you won't just manage a portfolio — you'll build the entire account management function from scratch. You'll own the post-sale client relationship end-to-end, driving retention and expansion while laying the foundations for a scalable, repeatable AM motion.

Your key responsibilities:

• Own a portfolio of strategic PSP and large-corporate clients, acting as their trusted advisor and primary point of contact at Fipto.

• Develop and execute tailored account growth plans to identify and close up-sell and cross-sell opportunities, increasing share of wallet across the book.

• Lead contract renewals and commercial negotiations, engaging C-level stakeholders (CFOs, Treasurers, Heads of Payments) to maximise client lifetime value.

• Build senior, long-term relationships that turn strategic clients into genuine Fipto advocates and references.

• Define and document Fipto's AM playbook from the ground up: account segmentation, health scoring, QBR format, CRM hygiene, and onboarding-to-AM hand-off process.

• Track, report, and act on portfolio health, retention metrics, and expansion pipeline — making data-driven decisions a core part of how you work.

• Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Operations, and Compliance to resolve client needs swiftly and advocate for client interests internally.

• Feed structured client insight back into the Product roadmap, bridging the gap between field reality and internal strategy.

• Stand up a regular QBR cadence and commercial review rhythm across the portfolio, establishing accountability and visibility for the commercial team.

• Lay the groundwork for a future AM team — documenting processes and tooling with enough clarity and rigour to onboard the next hire.

Who Are You?

Experience & Background

• 5+ years in Account Management, Customer Success, or a commercial client-facing role, ideally in Payments, FinTech, or a related B2B financial services environment.

• A proven track record of growing revenue within existing accounts through up-sell, cross-sell, and renewals — not just maintaining relationships.

• Experience navigating complex enterprise accounts with multiple stakeholders across technical, legal, compliance, and finance functions.

• Comfort building from scratch: you've created processes, playbooks, or frameworks in a previous role, not just inherited them.

Technical & Hard Skills

• Strong commercial negotiation skills with C-level executives.

• Analytical mindset — able to assess account health, interpret data, and translate it into action.

• Familiarity with CRM tools (HubSpot, Salesforce) and a structured approach to pipeline and account hygiene.

• Understanding of crypto, blockchain, stablecoins, or digital assets is a genuine plus.

Soft Skills

• Exceptional relationship management and executive communication — you build trust quickly at senior levels.

• Strategic thinker who also rolls up their sleeves and executes with ownership and urgency.

• Self-starter who thrives in ambiguity and brings structure where there is none.

• Highly organised, able to manage multiple accounts and priorities simultaneously without dropping the ball.

Languages: Full professional fluency in English and French is required.

Your Future Team

You'll report directly to Grégoire and sit within Fipto's commercial function, working peer-to-peer with the Sales. This is the founding AM hire, you'll work cross-functionally every day: aligning with Product on client feedback, coordinating with Operations and Compliance on issue resolution, and partnering with Sales on smooth hand-offs from new logo to managed account.

Our Hiring Process

1. Intro screen with Sandra, our Head of People (~45 min)

2. Hiring Manager interview with Grégoire (60 min): a deep dive into your AM experience, approach to enterprise accounts, and background in payments or fintech.

3. Case study / practical exercise

4. Cross-functional interviews (60 min): conversations with peers from Product and Operations/Compliance to explore how you collaborate across teams.

Salary & Benefits

• Base salary: €60,000 – €75,000 depending on experience.

• Variable compensation: 20% of base tied to net revenue retention and expansion targets
