The Nursing Assistant provides direct patient care, including personal hygiene, nutritional assistance, and vital sign monitoring under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. They are responsible for maintaining a safe and clean environment while promptly reporting any changes in patient condition.
Candidates must have at least 6 months of nursing assistant experience, completion of clinical rotations, or enrollment in the Essentia Health Nursing Assistant Foundation Course. A BLS certification is required within one month of the hire date.
As a Nursing Assistant, you are responsible for providing direct care to patients and serving the needs of patients in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort, under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, Nurse Manager, Assistant Head Nurse, and/or Department Director (possibly with guidance from an LPN) to contribute to meeting the mission and goals of Essentia Health. Works within job scope to meet the requirements of the Joint Commission and other applicable federal, state and local regulatory and accrediting agencies.
