About our group | Mō te roopu 

 

The Corporate Services Group works in close partnership with the wider business to lead, support, and enable the EPA to achieve its strategic intentions and effectively and efficiently deliver its core functions.  

 

There are five key functions within the Corporate Services Group. These are:  

 

Information Management and Technology, People and Capability, Communications and Customer, Finance and Business Services and Enterprise Projects. 

 

The Finance and Business Services function provides leadership and support across finance, procurement, planning and performance, risk and assurance, and facilities. 

 

  • Planning and Performance leads organisational performance, business and strategic planning and provides high quality internal and external accountability reporting.  

 

About the role | Mō te tūnga  

 

This role is based in our Wellington office. While we're happy to consider work-from-home arrangements, this role is not designed for full-time remote working.  

 

As the Senior Advisor Planning & Performance, you will play a key role in helping the EPA achieve its strategic priorities through effective planning, performance monitoring and accountability reporting. Working closely with leaders across the organisation, you'll provide trusted advice, coordinate key reporting processes and help ensure the EPA can demonstrate the impact of its work 

 

A typical day in the life of this role 

 

  • Working with leaders to develop plans, performance measures and reporting. 

  • Preparing reporting for the Board, Minister and Executive Leadership Team. 

  • Providing advice on organisational performance and accountability requirements. 

  • Identifying opportunities to improve planning and reporting processes. 

  • Mentoring and supporting team members. 

 

About you | Mōhou ake  

 

You are an experienced advisor who enjoys working at both the strategic and operational level. You can confidently navigate complex issues, build strong relationships and turn information into meaningful insights. You enjoy working collaboratively and are motivated by helping organisations perform at their best.  

 

 

We are looking for someone with a range of skills and experience – if you have some or all of the below, we would love to hear from you. 

 

  • An in-depth working knowledge of the machinery of the government 

  • Skills and experience in planning, strategy, performance and accountability reporting 

  • Ability to see the “big picture” and provide performance advice and guidance to managers for decision making 

  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship building and networking skills with the ability to influence those who do not have a direct reporting relationship  

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

  • Ability to influence and work effectively across all levels of an organisation.

Salary range 

 

$103,473 - $155,209 per annum (midpoint $129,341).  

 

This is the full salary range of the band, from 80% - 120%. Appointments will generally be made at or below the midpoint of this range, depending on skills and experience.
