Our teams bring together expertise in process engineering, quality, production, and maintenance to ensure our products meet the highest standards of performance and reliability. We believe in building better processes, empowering our people, and investing in the next generation of engineering talent.
This Opportunity
In this role, the Process Engineering Intern supports the daily engineering needs of the production environment — assisting with data collection, process documentation, and continuous improvement activities. You’ll provide hands‑on support to engineers in monitoring processes, resolving routine issues, and contributing to engineering projects aimed at improving quality, efficiency, and reliability. You’ll be encouraged to ask questions, contribute ideas, and learn from engineers who are eager to mentor you.
This internship exists to give you foundational engineering experience while helping the department execute essential technical tasks that keep our operations running at their best.
Internship Details
Duration: 10–12 weeks (Summer) or semester‑long (Fall/Spring)
Schedule: Full‑time during summer; part‑time options available during the academic year
Eligibility: Rising juniors and seniors; completion of sophomore year preferred
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate based on academic level and experience; $25.00/hour for undergraduate-level students
Location: On‑site at our facility in Mahwah, New Jersey
What You’ll Do
Support engineering staff with data collection, process observations, and basic analysis on assigned production lines
Assist in drafting, updating, and organizing SOPs, work instructions, and process documentation
Participate in engineering projects such as equipment upgrades, workflow improvements, process optimization trials, and validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ)
Prepare materials, records, and documentation for process studies and improvement initiatives
Support troubleshooting efforts by gathering information, documenting issues, and assisting engineers with temporary or permanent solutions
Track KPIs, update dashboards, and prepare summary reports for the engineering team
Participate in Kaizen, Lean, and continuous improvement workshops
Assist in developing training materials and supporting production teams during new process rollouts
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including Quality, Production, and Maintenance
Contribute to engineering initiatives involving CAD/CAM, equipment evaluations, process characterization, or material handling projects
Job Requirements:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Required Qualifications
Minimum qualification of a rising junior or senior currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related Engineering field
Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, engineering principles, and problem‑solving methodologies
Technical Skills
Ability to collect, organize, and interpret data
Foundational knowledge of statistical concepts and process analysis tools (coursework acceptable)
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Familiarity with CAD or CAM tools is a plus
Preferred Experience
Prior internship or project experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
Exposure to regulated industries such as medical device, aerospace, or automotive
Who Thrives Here
Curious learners who ask thoughtful questions and seek to understand how processes work
Students who enjoy hands‑on problem solving in a dynamic production environment
Strong communicators who collaborate well with cross‑functional teams
Organized, detail‑oriented individuals who can manage multiple tasks
Proactive contributors who take initiative and participate actively in engineering projects
