About the role:
Reporting to the Electrical Superintendent, the Engineer or Engineer In Training, Electrical will support the reliability, maintenance, and continuous improvement of electrical systems across our coal processing facilities. This position provides engineering support for processing plant equipment, fixed electrical infrastructure, substations, drives, motors, PLC systems, and power distribution. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with operations, maintenance, projects, and reliability teams to improve plant performance while ensuring safe and reliable operation of critical electrical assets.
To be successful in this role, we are looking for a safety-focused and collaborative engineer with a passion for improving the reliability and performance of electrical systems. Someone who applies sound engineering judgment to solve complex technical challenges while balancing operational priorities, asset reliability, and long-term maintenance strategies. A person who builds strong working relationships with operations, maintenance, project teams, and contractors, and communicate technical information effectively to a variety of stakeholders. Proactive, adaptable, and committed to continuous improvement, taking ownership of initiatives that enhance safety, reliability, and operational performance. With strong organizational and problem-solving skills, you can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced mining environment while consistently delivering high-quality engineering solutions.

In this role you will:
Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
Provide engineering support for fixed plant electrical systems and infrastructure
Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance strategies
Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes, regulations, and company standards
Support plant shutdown planning and execution
Support electrical troubleshooting on high-voltage and low-voltage systems
Manage electrical asset health and develop long-term replacement strategies
Lead reliability improvement initiatives to increase equipment availability
Review electrical drawings, specifications, and protection coordination studies
Investigate equipment failures using root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
Requirements:
Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering
Minimum of three-year work experience in an Electrical Engineering Role
Previous work experience in heavy industry
Registered, or eligible for registration, as a Professional Engineer with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC)
Proficient with the Microsoft Office® Suite and AutoCAD
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent

Salary range: 108,000 - 133, 000 CAD / year
