SUMMARY OF POSITION FUNCTION:
Assists in administering the Center’s Health and Wellness Services Program.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversees scheduling of sick call, infirmary coverage, and environmental health, physical and dental exams in accordance with DOL guidelines.
Inspects the food service facility and dormitories regularly.
Develops and maintains an inventory control system for medication, equipment and medical supplies.
Conducts inventories of supplies and medications monthly.
Purchases medication and medical supplies.
Participates in nurses’ on-call rotation.
Functions as staff nurse as needed.
Collects data and maintains wellness monthly Utilization Report.
Plans, organizes and controls the use of overtime and on-call staff to insure compliance with Center and ETR policy and procedures.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
Proven ability to lead and support a team
Thorough knowledge of nursing techniques and practices
Knowledge of current state and federal laws regulating health care and patient privacy (HIPPA)
Strong organization skills and communication skills, both oral and written
Familiarity with medical needs of young adults
Meticulous documentation/recording skills and attention to detail; excellent time management
Ability to multi-task in a fast-changing environment
Proficient in the use of a personal computer and computer software including MS Word, Excel and Outlook
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
State Licensed Registered Nurse.
EXPERIENCE:
Three years experience as a practicing nurse; one of which was in a lead capacity.
OTHER:
Must possess a valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record
