SUMMARY OF POSITION FUNCTION:
Provides engaging instruction, administers tests, and evaluates student progress, understanding, and proficiency in Eletrical field of Career Technical Training.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides students with industry-recognized instruction and training.
Develops and prepares lessons; recommends curricula changes and supplemental materials.
Administers and corrects tests; logs and maintains progress and attendance.
Identifies, selects, and modifies instructional resources to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs.
Manages the classroom by moving about the room to tutor, coach, evaluate, and assist each student as the need arises.
Motivates and counsels students in areas of behavior, training, personal problems or study habits.
Evaluates and supervise students in an on-the-job training experience.
Participates in providing hands-on activities for students in the career preparation program.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
Demonstrated knowledge of effective instructional strategies, classroom management and content field
Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills; excellent customer service skills

Ability to quickly learn Job Corps methodologies and strategies
Ability to use different methods and mediums in delivering course material
Ability to effectively respond to student issues as they arise
Must be proficient in the use of common computer software (Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.).
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Certified, licensed, or accredited by the State in which the Center is located or by an accredited professional trade organization.
EXPERIENCE:
Experience must meet the state or professional trade organization requirements.
At least two years of teaching experience that would equip applicant with knowledge, skills and ability to perform the related duties of the position.
Journeyman status as an electrician is preferred.
Three years work experience as an electrician.
OTHER:
Must possess valid driver’s license.
