Position Available: Career Counselor
We are seeking a full-time We are seeking a full-time Career Counselor who is reliable, compassionate, has a great work ethic, and also loves to work with youth! Be the mentor who helps students strive for academic excellence by empowering them to do their best, overcome challenges and work to develop the skills to become lifelong learners.
In this position, you will support enrollment, student development, and retention services while ensuring a quality learning experience. Career Counselors manage a group of assigned students and coach each through their academic or vocational program. Career Counselors provide a trusted environment where students can share their thoughts, aspirations, concerns, and interests.
We are looking for an individual who is well organized with great attention to detail and possesses strong oral and written communication skills. The ability to work as a team member and the ability to be self-motivated is essential for success. The position requires proficiency in the use of computers and common computer software (Microsoft Office and other career options and job search applications).
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or related field preferred. An equivalent combination of education, vocational training, and/or experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-to-year basis. Must possess a New York State Valid Driving License with an acceptable driving record. Compensation is based on experience.
