Full job description

Since 2020, dWELL has been an affirming recovery housing program on a mission to support young adults in their transition to independence through residences and a community-based approach that supports growth and healing. We provide a personalized, foundational, skills-based model that helps young adults pursue their individual life goals. We are looking for a passionate, detail-oriented, and innovative House Manager for our Transitional Living Program (TLP)  to join our New York City team and contribute to our goal of making a difference.

dWELL Recovery is seeking a dedicated and compassionate House Manager to work the following shift:

  • Monday through Friday from 8:00a-4:00p

The House Manager will play an essential role in providing direct support to residents, helping them navigate individualized goals, daily routines, and life skills that promote recovery and independence.

What You Will Do:

Resident Care, Case Management, and Life Skills Support

  • Provide individualized resident support through goal setting, progress monitoring, life skills development, and transition planning
  • Oversee daily resident care needs, including routines, ADL support, chores, grocery support, and other program expectations
  • Support residents in building independence through structure, accountability, relational support, and practical coaching
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to align resident support with treatment plans, recovery goals, medication monitoring expectations, and crisis response needs

Family Communication and Clinical Coordination

  • Serve as a key liaison between residents, families, staff, clinical providers, referral sources, and outside treatment teams
  • Maintain regular family communication, including phone check-ins, updates, and support with the clinical parent-coaching process

Team Leadership and Program Support

  • Provide supervision, guidance, training, and support to new dWELL Recovery team members to ensure consistent resident care, documentation, and adherence to program expectations
  • Lead or support community-building activities, weekend programming, recovery-focused engagement, and expanded dWELL services such as transitional living, studio support, and companion services
  • Manage 1–2 program projects by developing workflows, monitoring progress, and supporting ongoing program improvement
  • Participate in staff meetings, leadership meetings, trainings, and regular supervision with the Program Director to support performance goals, team alignment, and professional development

Documentation, Operations, and Facility Readiness

  • Ensure timely completion of required documentation, including case notes, shift reports, daily game plans, medication support documentation, ADL checklists, and apartment checklists
  • Collaborate with the dWELL team to oversee resident schedules, daily program structure, and overall workflow coordination
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and tour-ready environment by conducting regular house walkthroughs, apartment inspections, and move-in readiness checks
  • Oversee supplies, inventory, groceries, resident and community needs, and program-related purchases while maintaining systems to track stock levels and prevent interruptions in daily operations

What You Need to Qualify:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in behavioral health, addiction treatment, mental health, or a related field
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed care, family-systems approaches, and recovery-oriented service models
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to navigate sensitive conversations with professionalism and empathy
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining a high standard of care
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background checks
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain)

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 20–40 lbs occasionally
  • Ability to stand, walk, or respond quickly during emergencies
  • Ability to walk multiple levels of stairs multiple times daily
  • Must be able to complete facility rounds and inspections

What We Offer:

  • Full benefits including comprehensive medical, dental, vision and a 401K with up to 3% company match, fully vested after 3 years
  • Flexible PTO - for a team that’s rested, recharged and feeling their best
  • Hands-on, creative, team-based work environment in the heart of New York City
  • We are family-owned and operated, offering a close-knit culture that emphasizes teamwork, trust, and a personal connection with every member of our team
  • 12 weeks Paid Parental Leave following a full year of service - providing support and flexibility during life’s most important moments

Schedule: Monday through Friday from 8:00a-4:00p

Compensation: $60,000 - $70,000 (commensurate on experience)
