GENERAL SUMMARY

The Product Administration Specialist is responsible for creating and maintaining large-group dental benefit booklets. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that large group dental benefit booklets contain accurate plan information and regulatory language. The Product Administration Specialist works closely with internal teams, including Account Management and Legal. The Product Administration Specialist reports to the Product Administration and Contracts Manager.

This position will be with Stratacor, an affiliate of Delta Dental of Minnesota.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
 
  1. Create new large group booklets for fully insured and ASO (Administrative Services Only) dental plans with a high degree of accuracy.
  2. Process booklet update requests for existing group accounts.
  3. Maintain a database of finalized booklets on a shared internal company drive.
  4. Review and interpret group contracts, benefit summaries, and underwriting documents to ensure accurate booklet benefit language.
  5. Verify that all required documentation is received and complete prior to processing.
  6. Coordinate with Account Management, Legal, and other internal departments to clarify group setup and resolve discrepancies.
  7. Respond to internal inquiries related to benefit booklet status and custom language requests.
  8. Maintain organized records and documentation for all group requests processed.
  9. Follow established workflows, procedures, and quality control standards for all tasks.
  10. Assist with reviewing and validating booklet accuracy against the system as needed.
  11. Support process improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to streamline Product Administration booklet workflows.
  12. Meet established productivity and quality metrics on a consistent basis.
  13. May assist in the development of process documentation and/or reporting.
  14. Other duties as assigned

Required:

  5. Collaboration: Works effectively with internal partners to analyze data, gather information, partner with internal stakeholders, and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  6. Adaptability: Adjusts to shifting priorities, system changes, and evolving workflows with ease
  7. Initiative: Proactively identifies and escalates issues to prevent downstream errors.
  8. Tech Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, business related software
  9. Communication: Strong ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally for cross-departmental collaboration

  1. Regulatory: ERISA and non-ERISA benefits knowledge

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required:

  1. Bachelor's degree in healthcare, business or related field; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in health, dental or vision insurance products, operations, regulatory filings and/or related experience.

Preferred:

  1. Familiarity with group benefits structures, plan designs, or insurance terminology
  2. Experience with dental and/or vision insurance products

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  1. Travel Requirements: Minimal
  2. Weight Lifting Requirements: Less than 20 lbs.
  3. Sedentary Work: Prolonged periods of sitting at a workstation while working at a computer

 

RELATIONSHIPS

  1. Reports To: Product Administration and Contracts Manager
  2. Internal Relationships: Works with Account Management, Sales, Legal and Proposal Team
  3. External Relationships: Vendors, Group Clients and Brokers

The starting salary range for this position is $52,500to $66,000 annually. Salary offers will typically be made in the listed range. The Company takes into consideration a candidate’s education, training, and experience, as well as the position’s work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value, including merit process and internal pay alignment when determining the salary for potential new team members. In compliance with state and federal regulations, a potential new team member’s salary history will not be used in compensation decisions.
