Conflict Analyst
Department: Business Services - OGC
Employment Type: Permanent

Description
The role provides an opportunity to be involved in the development of a new central conflicts team, helping to determine whether a new client or matter can, or should be, accepted by us in line with the SRA Code of Conduct, our existing client base and our own ethical framework.
The role will utilise and develop your commercial awareness and compliance knowledge and will involve analysing potential conflicts of interest.
Key Responsibilities
Performing conflict and sanctions check searches using the Intapp system.
Analysing potential commercial, legal and material information conflict issues in accordance with the applicable regulation and common law.
Working with colleagues in the legal teams to obtain relevant information to assist your analysis.
Identifying wider commercial risk issues at the client acceptance and conflict checking stage.
Escalating issues arising from the search results to OGC (Office of General Counsel), where necessary.
Assisting in the implementation of information barriers.
Ensuring consistent data entry into Intapp.
Working within SLA timescales.
Developing and maintaining knowledge of the SRA Code of Conduct rules relating to conflicts of interest and the duties of confidentiality and disclosure.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Either a law degree/GDL/LPC OR previous experience of working in a compliance function OR relevant experience from working within a commercial law firm as a conflicts analyst.
Experience of gathering and analysing information and utilising it in a methodical way.
Proven ability to work to competing deadlines, prioritise appropriately and maintain a positive working attitude.
Highly organised with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to form and maintain good relationships with colleagues at all levels.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
A working knowledge of Intapp is desirable but not essential.
Able to make decisions and remain calm while under pressure-particularly when dealing with difficult situations.
Able to exercise tact and diplomacy.
Can demonstrate initiative and the ability to be proactive.
Good team player.
Strong problem solving and analytical skills; can clearly explain and present problems and issues to others and contribute to their resolution.
