Crime Victims Assistance Center, Inc. is a non-profit agency, founded in 1978, committed to increasing awareness and understanding of the needs of crime victims and those affected by, or at risk of experiencing crime. We provide crisis counseling and supportive services as well as prevention, advocacy and education to persons throughout Broome & Chenango County. We serve the community with a 24 hour crisis line to provide callers with emergency crisis intervention, supportive counseling, information and referral. Our agency has a victim advocacy program, where advocates accompany and assist crime victims through medical and criminal justice processes, a Child Advocacy Center, and Office of Victim Services compensation for victims of crime who have suffered a monetary loss as a result. Crime Victims Assistance Center provides free youth, community and professional education in all areas of victimization via our education department. We continue to grow and expand services to meet the needs of victims and survivors in our region.
