About us

We are a social-impact foundation working to improve financial literacy among women from low- and middle-income households in India. We run a digital financial education programme that reaches over a million women through video, social media, a podcast, and an AI-based assistant, delivered in partnership with NGOs and governments. Video sits at the centre of everything we do — it is how we reach women, hold their attention, and earn their trust.

About the role

We are looking for someone to own the look and quality of our videos, end to end. Research and scripting are done by others; from there, the video is yours. You take the script, work out how to bring it to life on screen, shoot it yourself, manage the lighting and sound, and finish it in the edit.

You will work across three kinds of video: our podcast series, our educational videos in Hindi, and our social media videos. You will set the quality bar and guide a junior team member who is learning the full craft.

We have run this work with a two-person team for some time and intend to keep it lean. So we need someone genuinely comfortable across the whole process — from idea to final cut — who can produce strong work without a large crew. This is a hands-on role: you are behind the camera and in the edit, not briefing others to do it for you.

What you'll do

Pre-production and creative direction

• Read the script and work out how to tell it on screen — the look, the shots, the pacing, and the visual style.
• Give clear, practical feedback on the script from a visual and production point of view.
• Plan the shoot — locations, set-up, equipment, and what's needed on the day.

Production and shooting

• Shoot the videos yourself, handling the camera and framing.
• Set up and manage lighting for studio, set, and on-location shoots.
• Manage sound on the shoot so the audio is clean and usable.
• Run the podcast and educational shoots smoothly, directing on the day.

Post-production

• Edit the videos to a finished, publish-ready standard.
• Add motion graphics where needed, including Hindi on-screen text.
• Manage sound design, mixing, and final audio in the edit.
• Use AI-assisted editing tools where they speed up or improve the work.

Quality and mentoring

• Set and hold the quality bar across all three video formats.
• Guide the junior team member, review their work, and help them grow into the full process.
• Keep project files, footage, and assets well organised so the team can find and reuse them.

Who we're looking for

Must have

• Experience: 6+ years of hands-on video production where you have shot, lit, and edited your own work — not only edited footage shot by others.
• Showreel: A strong showreel showing the full range — direction, camera, and edit.
• On set: Good command of lighting and sound on a shoot, not only in the edit.
• In the edit: Strong editing and motion graphics skills, and openness to AI-assisted tools.
• Language: Fluency in Hindi.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in Marathi or another regional language.
• Experience making content for a low-income, first-time audience, with care for how the message lands.

You'll fit well if you

• Are comfortable owning a video from idea to final cut, working independently.
• Can guide a junior colleague generously and raise the standard of their work.
• Are steady, grounded, and dependable — someone who cares about the work more than showreel polish.
• Communicate well and are comfortable working with the content, podcast, and social teams.
• Are a self-starter who can run this with limited oversight and take ownership.
