Responsible for managing seven dedicated school crossings to ensure the safety of children in traffic. Provides direction and assistance to students during early morning and mid-afternoon shifts.
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and the ability to pass a drug test and criminal background check. Candidates must be able to stand for the duration of the shift and work in all weather conditions.

Job Summary:
The City of Woodstock is accepting applications for a seasonal School Crossing Guard with the Woodstock Police Department for the 2026-2027 school year.
The Crossing Guard staff is responsible for seven (7) dedicated school crossings within the City of Woodstock and provides direction and assistance to children crossing streets and maintains children's safety in traffic. Crossing Guards work Monday - Friday at a designated crossing location during the school year. Positions are scheduled in two shifts: 1.5 hours in the early morning and 1.5 hours mid-afternoon.

Pay Rate:
The position is a seasonal, non-exempt/hourly position with a starting pay rate of $17.36 per hour. There are no additional benefits except for Accrued Sick Leave - earn 1 hour for every 40 hours worked on a prorated basis and available for use after 100 calendar days of employment.
