Perform grounds maintenance including mowing, tractor cutting, and broadleaf spraying across the city. Assist in the annual planting and watering of 1,600 to 2,000 trees in streets and reserves.

Requirements

Requires a Certificate III in Horticulture or Arboriculture and an MR licence. Must possess a White Card and TTM/WZTM certification, with a willingness to obtain an excavator ticket.

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and reliable individual to join our Tree Establishment & Mowing Team. While the primary focus of this role is on mowing, the successful candidate will also contribute to a variety of horticultural and grounds maintenance tasks. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Grounds Maintenance: Participate in front and mid-deck mowing, tractor cutting, and broadleaf spraying at various locations within the City of Tea Tree Gully.
  • Support Tree Planting/Watering: Assist in planting 1,600–2,000 trees annually across streets and reserves when mowing duties slow.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with team members to ensure high-quality outcomes and contribute to a positive team environment.
  • Customer Service: Deliver timely, community-focused service while maintaining high operational and safety standards.
     

Position Description - Field Officer Horticulturalist - Tree Establishment & Mowing

Essential Requirements:

  • MR licence
  • Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) / Work Zone Traffic Management (WZTM)
  • Construction Induction/Work Safely in the Construction Industry (White Card)
  • Certificate III in Horticulture or Arboriculture
  • Excavator ticket, or willingness to obtain
  • Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical assessment and police check

Salary range is between $75,220 to $76,478 plus superannuation guarantee and will be negotiated commensurate with skills, experience and qualifications.
