The employee is responsible for the manual collection of refuse, recycling, and yard waste, as well as the safe operation of large collection trucks. They must also perform routine equipment maintenance and communicate professionally with citizens.
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED and a valid State of Michigan Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a B endorsement. Two to three years of experience in large truck operation and maintenance is preferred.

JOB SUMMARY
This is heavy manual work in the collection of refuse/recycling/yard waste material and in the operation of large refuse/recycling collection trucks. Work involves the collection of a wide variety of refuse/recycling materials with the safe and efficient operation of large refuse/recycling collection trucks on various routes.
ILLUSTRATIVE JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Participates with collections of large solid waste items such as discarded appliances, furniture and materials.
