Lead safe, energizing, and educational group exercise classes while building a positive community for participants of all fitness levels. Maintain wellness knowledge and adjust instruction to meet the diverse health and cultural needs of members.
Requires a high school diploma, a national or YMCA group fitness certification, and current CPR/First Aid/AED certification. Preference is given to candidates with at least one year of experience teaching group exercise classes.

The Group Exercise Instructor instructs group classes in a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment that welcomes people of all skill and fitness levels. Effectively builds community within the class. Modifies class as needed to meet varied health, ability and cultural needs. This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.

Ability to conduct classes and activities.
Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position; including leading class, walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting.
Work schedule will include daytime, evening and weekend hours and ability to travel to all program activity sites.
