Position Summary
The Systems Administrator is responsible for supporting and maintaining the organization’s technology environment, including user systems, servers, applications, networks, and related infrastructure. This role works across many different technologies rather than focusing on a specific vertical.
The Systems Administrator will assist with day-to-day technology operations, system maintenance, user support, security controls, documentation, and technology improvement initiatives. The position values sound judgement, attention to detail, and the ability to review and understand and issue completely to ensure timely and effective resolution of problems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Respond to requests for technical support, documenting, tracking and monitoring the problem to ensure a timely resolution
- Add and maintain users on the network; assigning application access, ensuring security and configurations are within standards
- Maintain an adequate level of knowledge of operating systems, applications, and services being used to provide high-level support to users
- Identify recurring technical issues and recommend practical improvements that increase reliability, security, efficiency, or user experience
- Investigate alerts, service interruptions, performance problems, and other technical issues, escalating to senior personnel or external providers when appropriate
- Support information security practices such as access control, endpoint protection, vulnerability remediation, system hardening, logging, and incident response
- Follow established change management, security, documentation, and escalation procedures.
- Coordinate with technology vendors, service providers, and application support teams to troubleshoot issues and complete maintenance or implementation activities
- Install workstations, servers, printers, applications, and other services according to schedule or as requested
- Participate in technology projects such as system upgrades, equipment replacements, application deployments, infrastructure improvements, and process automation.
- Perform off-hours / remote work as required for maintenance, support activities, and to meet project deadlines
- Participate in after-hours on-call rotation for emergency support needs
- Perform other technology-related duties as needed in support of the organization’s operations

- Solid Understanding Network Concepts (OSI model, DNS, DHCP, etc.)
- Desktop and End User Device Troubleshooting
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including documentation and process development

Education and Experience
- 1-3 years relevant experience
Associates or Bachelor’s degree Computer Science or Computer Engineering preferred or related work experience
