eLearning Program Manager

Job Summary:

The eLearning Program Manager is primarily responsible for supporting AAPA’s Continuing Medical Education (CME) initiatives, with a focus on the implementation and optimization of eLearning and digital learning programs. This role supports multiple aspects of AAPA’s Learning Management System (LMS) – Learning Central and works collaboratively as part of a team to ensure effective implementation and ongoing management of the LMS platform.

Responsibilities include collaborating with staff and subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure CME and eLearning content accuracy; effectively managing, building, and testing new CME/eLearning activities; supporting LMS‑related components of AAPA annual conference and specialty meetings; developing dashboards, generating, and distributing participation and assessment data reports; developing standard operating procedure (SOPs) for routine tasks, evaluating processes for continuous improvement, troubleshooting user experience issues; and providing general CME‑related customer support to AAPA members, nonmembers, and staff.

In addition to LMS-related responsibilities, the eLearning Program Manager will assist Technology and Support Services team members and collaborate with cross-departmental staff on projects as needed. This is a very collaborative position that occasionally requires timely responses to internal and external requests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Construct CME activities within the LMS using provided components; review content for editorial and visual quality; finalize activity materials in collaboration with the CME owner; and develop corresponding assessments.
  • Assist with the project management of timelines and deliverables for LMS course construction.
  • Design and develop interactive eLearning activities using Articulate (Storyline/Rise), as needed.
  • Assists with execution of CME webinars.
  • Conduct quality assurance testing of CME activities prior to launch to ensure accuracy, functionality, and overall learner experience.
  • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that result in efficient administration of Learning Central.
  • Manage the CME tech email inbox by troubleshooting issues users experience and either provide guidance and resolve issues directly or escalate with the LMS vendor.
  • Generate participation and assessment data from the LMS as requested by staff and partners, which occur both monthly and on an ad hoc basis.
  •  Generate revenue and expense reports for product partners.
  • Support LMS implementations and/or upgrades by conducting testing and documenting results.
  • Review marketing copy for promotion of CME activities.
  • Support IT department with implementations and/or upgrades of other systems related to the LMS by conducting testing and documenting results.
  • Perform other related duties and contribute to special projects as needed to support organizational objectives.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Experience within the non-profit sector preferred
  • Experience with continuing medical education (CME) or continuing education (CE) credit systems preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint required
  • Familiarity with medical terminology preferred
  • Experience working in web-based systems such as: Learning Management Systems (LMS), Association Management Systems (AMS), Content Management Systems (CMS) preferred
