The intern will work with staff and volunteers to manage special projects, represent AARP at community events, and conduct research to support advocacy efforts. They will also collaborate on communication tactics and identify local projects to advance AARP's presence in targeted communities.
Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited degree program as rising undergraduate juniors or seniors, graduate students, or postdoctoral students. Applicants should possess strong communication skills, the ability to manage multiple projects, and technical proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Our team creates and executes various events and projects to improve people's lives as they age and help build a better tomorrow for future generations. We'll challenge you to think and work innovatively on real-world projects. AARP is committed to your growth and cultivating your continued learning and development. This paid internship has an anticipated start date of Fall 2026 and will run through the end of the year, with the possibility of extending additional semesters.

Hybrid Work Environment
AARP observes Mondays and Fridays as remote workdays, except for essential functions. Remote work can only be done within the United States and its territories.
Compensation and Benefits
The hourly range is $18 for undergraduates, $21 for graduate students, $28 for Ph.D. candidates. Internships are non-exempt positions and are not eligible for employee benefits.
