Lead and coordinated the HQ Menlo Park Music Room with a team for Open Mic events, company-wide karaoke's, budget for instrument renovations and reorganizations. I helped structure the committee and made a connection between the Music Clubs of other campuses, such as that of, France, New York, and Seattle, to organize events nationally - and eventually globally - for internal talent shows, festivals, and musical collaborations. There is also a professional recording studio that we had planned, where employees can record music with organs, bass, drums, guitar, and a pedal rack along a mixer to produce MP3 or WAV files to promote creativity and a great WLB across the company in HQ. Beta tester for the new music networking social media platform known as Collab that is being built by the NPE (New Product Experimentation) division of Facebook. I was invited as a special member to help grow this new style of connecting people through a new medium and to elevate Facebook’s core values.
Actively engaged in weekly ToastMaster’s sessions in various roles, such as grammarian, ah-counter, timer, and table topics master, to improve my public speaking skills, become a more qualified orator, and better generate pitches that direct the target audience and get listeners to flow into the story.
Took role in Facebook’s Global Hackathon on a team doing the “Empathy Project,” which aims to allow people to freely express their ideas, opinions, and thoughts freely without coercion, ridicule, or blame. To accomplish act of tangible respect, especially following Juneteenth, a design in Figma was created as a prototype showing the flows of users expressing their emotions. This goes about in two ways: • create an “empathy post” where users can talk about a certain event they witnessed, their feelings (limited to two words), action points, and what should have been done according to them. This takes the role of Facebook making its own method of allowing and encouraging respectable discussion throughout its services. • create a Hub where Facebook can direct people to already existing organizations that help people foster respectable communication, such as political discussion, and platforms where people can freely be themselves, such as famous games. This approach allows Facebook to generate growth for existing organizations preaching empathy and gives the incentive for new ones to aspire. This design has reached the second stage of evaluation and is currently being analyzed by judges to proceed to the next round. If the design is deemed feasible, this idea will be incorporated into the Facebook App and launched into production for billions of users worldwide.
Award: • “Outstanding Achievement Award” from NASA Langley’s Chief Information Officer as a result of great teamwork. Utilized ServiceNow to recreate a modern, user-friendly website that hosts all the business automation applications used within Langley in a single location. Using ServiceNow and AngularJS, a new website was made that adjusted to the users needs and wants in regards to intuitiveness and accessability. The users have the option to manage the applications they have access to by their personal preferences and the applications’ user guides and help forms for feedback. They can easily request access for an application they do not currently have. The entire Langley center is using this site, and there are plans to expand this brand new site for other NASA Centers across the nation with first priority being the Ames Center. Organized speaker series/panels, networking events, lectures from experienced scientists, wind tunnel tours, and music for hosted events (I organized a contractor band). I organized the printing of flyers, sending out of emails, and managing of forms to foster engagement within these events. Gratefully, I was able to arrange a meeting with Deputy Director of the Langley Center David Young and got the chance to ask him about his life story and how he reached his important position. The NASA Nation-Wide Contractor Organization has a purpose to connect contractors across the agency and, in a larger scope, the nation to collaborate, work together, promote NASA's brand, and combine cross-department connectivity.
Won 2nd place in the Startup Pitch Competition hosted in the Forbes Under 30 Summit with highly experienced entrepreneurs from all walks of life. The goal was to create a product that would help an important environmental concern, namely lowering or stopping the growth of algae at the surface of rivers or lakes, specifically Lake Erie, and reducing the amount of nitrogen & phosphorus that flows into rivers via fertilizers used by farmers. The former problem kills all the plants and wildlife below the surface and the latter generically poisons wildlife in the area. We proposed an end-to-end solution that was composed of fixing both problems. One part was to introduce a better fertilizer for the farmers to use and to incentivize farmers to use it while greatly lowering pollution to our precious waters. The second solution was to use drones to drop pods of duckweed & other plants onto the concentrations of algae in the water that would naturally consume the algae without affecting the environment. This would generate money largely by the investments in futures for the health of the water supply of Lake Erie. Since this holistic solution incorporated a preventative & proactive measure for the problem at hand, it made a lot of sense in fighting the algae & toxic chemicals, thus allowing the team to win second place.

Created a brand new customer-facing website for the purpose of providing customers of Motorola Solutions' public safety, mission critical two-way subscribers the following capabilities for more efficient radio management: • determine what features/capabilities a given radio is capable of by decoding a string called a FLASHcode, • build new FLASHcodes from applicable sets of features/SW options, & • compare FLASHcodes side by side. The web app was created from scratch & I worked with others on the team and in other departments to host the web app in Azure, tie authorization and audit/tracking, and work with the UI/UX designer to come up with UI that presented the functionality in a clean interface that conformed with the corporate standards and branding. This website was presented at a national convention and gave off a very good impression as version 1.0 of the product. Over 30,000 customers use this product in the market.
12-week internship entailing eight weeks of technical developer experience, as well as four weeks of project managerial experience, in the Explorer Intern Program at Microsoft's corporate headquarters. The purpose of the project is to increase customer experience and faithfulness by adding an additional media channel to an existing client feedback tool to gather social data from the customer. • Created a First Party Library where models were built for all the data objects from the API that we should were necessary to have. • Established read and write methods to collect and respond to the social data by leveraging the power of the Microsoft Cloud in the form of multiple Azure resources, such as Web Apps, Web Jobs, Application Insights, Key Vault, and more. • Developed a collecting mechanism using the .NET framework to gather suggestions and comments from a website via its API through the tool’s pipeline in a resilient fashion. After connecting the data through our team’s client feedback tool, the Collector was published as an Azure Web Job on the production branch. This backend source was used to monitor metrics and tracking from the collector in a graphical format, such as the number of comments received or exceptions from running the service. • Constructed a responding mechanism (using Angular 4 and TypeScript) so that the support team can reply to the customer’s needs, ideas, questions, or concerns in a quick manner through a UI that is already familiar to them. I utilized Scrum Agile in a group of five people to make a web application for our client: the company "K9 Partners for Patriots”. We developed a client and inventory management web application so that the client can easily track the items they have and who, what, when, and where they went to. The MEAN full-stack Javascript framework was used to make this application and the domain used to run the website was Heroku. Through the experience, skills in scrum agile, git, communication, project management, teamwork, and decision-making were obtained. Ariel Wald - Technical Software Presentation.pdf
