Technical Co-Founder
About this role
KONVEA is looking for a technical co-founder (m/f/d) to build an AI-powered product for public procurement processes in the DACH region with us from the ground up; you'll join the founding team and help shape the architecture, data and model pipelines, as well as the product itself. The role is critical because it owns the technical implementation of our GDPR-compliant platform and has a direct impact on market adoption and growth.
What you'll do
- You join as a technical co-founder with 15–20% equity, accompanied by a standard four-year vesting schedule with a one-year cliff.
- You design the system architecture in the EU with a focus on GDPR compliance (e.g., Frankfurt, AWS Bedrock or Vertex AI).
- You build the engine that generates complete, compelling proposal concepts from company data.
- You develop and maintain a reference database for references, certificates, and CVs, and integrate them into the concepts.
- You implement entity resolution, reliability scoring, and confidence quantification.
- Depending on your strengths, you work either deeply in AI models (LLMs, RAG, NLP) or broadly across product engineering.
- You help decide technical priorities within a small founding team (you would be hire/founder number three).
- You preferably work full-time and support the business strategy during the pre-seed phase.
What KONVEA is looking for
- Proven experience building a product from scratch and having taken on responsibility as a technical lead.
- Strong full-stack skills with hands-on experience in backend, data, and cloud architecture.
- Experience with LLMs, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and NLP, since the core product is built on these.
- A pragmatic working style focused on shipping rather than endless polishing.
- A genuine founder mentality: you want to help build a company, not just work through tickets.
- Willingness to work during a pre-seed phase (incorporation in preparation; ProFIT application with IBB Berlin in progress) and compensation that is initially weighted heavily toward equity.
- Based in Berlin preferred, hybrid or remote within the DACH region possible.
