The Hospital Outpatient Coder reviews and analyzes medical record documentation to assign diagnostic and procedural codes. This role focuses on outpatient medical and surgical encounters for facility claims.
Requires a high school diploma with 4 years of experience or an associate degree with 2 years of experience in outpatient coding. A professional coding credential such as RHIA, RHIT, CCS-P, or CPC is mandatory.
HYBRID: This is a hybrid position and must be located within 100 miles of any of the Mayo Clinic campuses for on-site expectations based on business needs.
The HB OP Coder reviews, analyzes, and assigns codes from medical record documentation to include, but not limited to, medical diagnostic and procedural information for outpatient medical and surgical encounters on the facility claim.
