We are looking for Staff Software Engineer who can play a pivotal role in driving the design and maintenance of advanced frameworks that elevate Walmart's Marketplace capabilities, ensuring unparalleled experiences for both sellers and channel partners. Your responsibilities will encompass coding, debugging, optimizing, and monitoring application health to ensure robust performance. In addition to these technical duties, you will provide mentorship to junior engineers, fostering their professional growth, and actively collaborating with product and UX/UI teams to deliver seamless integrations. Your leadership and expertise will be instrumental in shaping the future of Walmart's Marketplace.team.

About Team:

The Global Marketplace team specializes on platforms responsible for providing a best-in-class experience to 3rd Party Sellers. The Seller growth team is essential to the Marketplace ecosystem, responsible for designing and scaling the global platform that supports the Seller business growth. The team develops robust recommendations & experiences to improve listing quality, timely actions to get maximum exposure for their listings, help them progress in their ratings and reviews on web, mobile, API channels.

We are looking for a strong Staff Engineer/Architect who can drive design, architecture & delivery of our next generation platforms keeping multi-tenancy, scalability, robustness and security aspects in focus. The platforms you build will be used for seller business growth across multiple countries with each of them being a multi-billion dollar business for Walmart. You will be challenged with unparalleled complex business problems that spans across multiple countries and large number of users & data.

What you'll do:

• Drive design, development, implementation and documentation
• Build, test and deploy cutting edge solutions at scale, impacting associates of Walmart worldwide.
• Interact with Walmart engineering teams across geographies to leverage expertise and contribute to the tech community.
• Engage with Product Management and Business to drive the agenda, set your priorities and deliver awesome products.
• Drive the success of the implementation by applying technical skills, to design and build enhanced processes and technical solutions in support of strategic initiatives.
• Work closely with the Architects and cross functional teams and follow established practices for the delivery of solutions meeting QCD (Quality, Cost & Delivery). Within the established architectural guidelines.
• Work with senior leadership to chart out the future roadmap of the products
• Participate in hiring and build teams enabling them to be high performing agile teams.
• Interact closely for requirements with Business owners and technical teams both within India and across the globe. You will use your engineering experience and technical skill to define design and overall architecture for highly scalable and robust solutions.
• You will work with engineering teams to create high level and low level designs, drive design discussion and technical decisions.
• You will come up with quality, best practices, other Non-functional standards and guide the teams to execute them along with helping them on overall technical and design aspects.
• You will help implement cutting edge models and algorithms that operate on massive amounts of data and Interact with Walmart cross functional engineering teams as cloud, platform, analytics etc. across geographies to leverage technical expertise and contribute to the engineering community.
• You will help and participate with the teams that leverage and contribute to opensource technologies to make impact on a global scale

What you'll bring:

• B.Tech. / B.E. / M.Tech. / M.S. in Computer Science or relevant discipline
• 10+ years of experience in design and development of highly-scalable applications and platform development.
• Strong computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, design patterns.
• Owning Tech Debt/Tech Modernization.
• Having proficiency in at least a couple of language like Java, Scala, Golang
• Hands on experience in Microservices, RESTful webservices development in Java/NodeJS(SpringBoot, Dropwizard or equivalent framework).
• Good knowledge in messaging systems: Kafka / RabbitMQ
• Good knowledge in Databases - SQL/No SQL.
• In depth knowledge of Cloud Architecture, Microservice Architecture and related stacks (Service Registry, ELK / Splunk, Microservices, VMs, etc.) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
• Knowledge of GenAI technologies and developing applications with GenAI.
• Knowledge on Azure Cloud Platform will be an advantage
• Knowledge of Frontend frameworks like Javascript, Angular, ReactJS will be an advantage.
• Work exposure on agile methodologies and DevOps would be added advantage.
• CI/CD development environments/tools: Git, Maven, Jenkins.
• Demonstrated end-to-end ownership for development and design of least one cloud-based project.
• Strong hands on development skills to prototype technical solutions.
• Strong desire to drive change, and ability to adapt to change quickly. Proficient in new and emerging technologies.
• Ability to balance the long-term "big picture" and short-term implications of design decisions.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills - including negotiation, facilitation, and consensus building skills; ability to influence and persuade, without direct control.
• Mentoring/coaching Senior staff engineers and other Engineers.
• Focus on reusability, frameworks, patterns and configurations tools for faster development.
• Contributing back to opensource.
• Practitioner of Agile (Scrum) methodology
