Our Why
Datacom works with organisations and communities across Australia and New Zealand to make a difference in people’s lives and help organisations use the power of tech to innovate and grow.
About the Role (your why)
The M365 Team Leader plays a key role directing one of our Microsoft 365 teams. As a leader of one of our teams, you will be responsible for managing the day to day operational activities of high performing M365 professionals, providing technical mentoring and guidance to less experienced members of our team, and performing scheduling, estimating and resource planning to meet the needs of our customers. You will be accountable for delivering a first-class experience for consumers of our Intelligent Workplace services. You will be responsible for providing guidance, advisory and project delivery to customers using best practice and modern technology approaches. This is an opportunity to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with an enthusiastic team of professionals.
Our offices are based in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney. We like to bring people together in person when we can, but we are mindful of the benefits of working from home for work/ life balance. We therefore leave it to you and the team you join to figure out what works best!
Please note that due to customer requirements, this role requires Australian Citizenship and eligibility to undertake a Federal Government Security Clearance
What you’ll do
As Team Leader you will be focused on:
Estimating, scheduling and ensuring that all resource planning requirements are sufficient to provide the required levels of availability and support.
Managing performance and culture of a high-performance team
Managing team workload and priorities to achieve SLAs
Managing customer expectations by overseeing the support model.
Ensure all escalations are addressed with effective communication back to the relevant stakeholder and associated parties
Develop effective working relationships with other Datacom employees to ensure the best company outcome.
Generate, share relevant knowledge, experience and ideas with team members with the aim of building team competence.
Determining how to use resources to meet service level agreements and support objectives.
Remedying complex problems and provide technical consultation in line with the established support model.
Planning systems capabilities and resources to fulfil user requirements.
Mentoring other engineers in the team to uplift skills.
We are a pretty agile company, and are keen to respond to customer, technology and internal stakeholders’ changing requirements and this can mean we evolve in our roles to meet those needs.
What you’ll bring
Required experience:
Extensive experience in the IT industry, with a strong background in Microsoft 365 technologies
Proven leadership experience in a Microsoft 365-focused role, with the ability to guide and mentor technical teams

Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver enterprise-level M365 solutions, ensuring alignment with customer needs and best practices
Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with a focus on building trusted relationships and driving continuous service improvement
Nice to have:
Exposure to Microsoft Power Platform and Microsoft Purview for enhanced compliance and automation capabilities
Experience working within Agile delivery environments
Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., MS-700, MS-203, MS-102)
