We address climate science, sea level rise, extreme weather, energy, and related topics. We collaborate with journalists, TV meteorologists, and other respected messengers, reaching broad audiences through local voices in the U.S. and 150 nations. Our research and visuals appear in thousands of TV spots and tens of thousands of other news stories each year, and our impact is growing.
About the Role:
Climate Central is seeking a Civic Science Fellow to serve as our Spanish-Language Engagement Specialist. This 18-month fellowship will be part of the Civic Science Fellows Program, a collaborative effort offered by the Rita Allen Foundation in partnership with more than 20 philanthropic partners (see more below). The Fellow will help us better understand and serve Spanish-language media and the communities they reach, many of whom are on the frontlines of climate change.
The Fellow will engage deeply with journalists, meteorologists, social media content creators, scientists, and organizations communicating with Hispanic/Latino communities, to help them drive public understanding about climate change. Over 18 months, they will build relationships and help Climate Central transform the resources and analyses we offer to better serve these communicators and their audiences.
The Senior Engagement Specialist will supervise the Fellow. The Fellow will also work closely with our full team of scientists, data analysts, communication professionals, and content creators.

More about the 2026-28 Civic Science Fellows Program: The program builds a national network of emerging leaders working at the intersection of science, technology, and civic life. Civic Science Fellows are cross-disciplinary communicators and bridge builders who help connect scientific knowledge with community needs. Fellows are embedded in host organizations for 18 months to co-create and pilot projects that advance civic science practice. They also participate in a national learning cohort that includes convenings, workshops, and peer exchange, which will launch in September 2026.

This position is primarily remote, in accordance with Climate Central policy. Periodic travel to headquarters in Princeton, NJ or other locations may be required for team meetings and events.
