Perform routine MRI examinations following established protocols and safety guidelines to provide high-quality patient care. Responsibilities include preparing patients, administering contrast, and documenting studies in EMR/PACS systems.
Requires graduation from an accredited imaging or radiology program and at least one year of MRI experience. Must hold current ARRT(RT)(MR) or ARMRIT certification and BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

PRN POSITIONS REQUIRE A MINIMUM OF 2 SHIFTS A MONTH
The MRI Technologist performs routine MRI examinations in accordance with established protocols, safety guidelines, and quality standards.
Responsibilities listed in this section are core to the position. Inability to perform these responsibilities, with or without an accommodation, may result in disqualification from the position.
Utilizing working knowledge, developing expertise, and available resources, provides safe, high‑quality, efficient, and patient‑centered care and support services under routine or emergent conditions. Functions with increased independence and clinical judgment across diverse care settings.
Prepares patients for procedures and correlates clinical history with physician‑ordered exams to support appropriate imaging.
Safely administers contrast per protocol
Demonstrates the ability to recognize basic imaging artifacts and implement corrective measures independently or under guidance.
Effectively communicates and collaborates with patients, families, and the care team to support desired clinical outcomes and service standards.
Accurately transfers images and associated data to designated systems, completes basic technical documentation, and prepares studies for physician reporting.
Carries out operator‑level quality control checks, cleaning, high‑level disinfection, and basic equipment maintenance per manufacturer instructions and regulatory requirements.
Accurately document in EMR/PACS
Actively participates in continuing education, professional development, and research initiatives to maintain competencies and advance quality of care and treatment practices.
Supports inventory tasks as needed to help ensure supplies are available.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: Graduate of an accredited imaging, radiology or nuclear medicine program as defined by ARRT or ARMRIT or
Completion of JRCERT accredited Military Educational Program is accepted in lieu of other educational requirements.
Experience: At least 1 year of MRI experience required.
License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required: Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire.
ARRT(RT)(MR) or ARMRIT certification is required upon hire.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology, MRI imaging principles, and radiologic terminology. Applies core‑level primary specialty theory and techniques to independently perform MRI exams, complete post‑processing and image analysis, and accurately annotate study data and procedure documentation with minimal guidance.
Ability to prioritize and independently complete clinical and non‑clinical work assignments with limited direction.
Communicates effectively through verbal and written means to convey accurate, timely information and collaborate with patients, families, and multidisciplinary team members.
