Boston Scientific is seeking a highly motivated Quality Engineer III on a permanent basis to join our operations team in Galway.
Job Purpose:
Join a critical operations team where your work directly impacts patient safety, product quality and business performance. In this role, you will lead and enhance quality systems, drive continuous improvement and ensure compliance with global regulatory standards. You'll collaborate across functions, influence best practices and provide coaching and training that strengthens a culture of quality. Key Responsibilities:
Provides direction and support to colleagues based on SME and Quality System knowledge.
Participates/Leads site initiatives and delivers on complex projects
Viewed as a leader in own functional area, constantly promoting awareness of best
industry practices making appropriate decisions daily. Escalate as appropriate to the
Quality Manager.
Manages and co-ordinates the department activities as applicable. Examples include:
Mentor for NCEP/CAPA/PIR Escalation/Complaints
Quality lead for complex projects
Site representative in Quality Catch, WSVA, etc.
Solves problems and determines appropriate action, by analysing possible solutions and the impact on the business or technology.
Organise and present data/information to influence decision making
Knowledgeable on QSR and ISO/MDD standards, constantly promoting awareness of best industry practices, making appropriate decision daily, utilising the Quality
Manager/Quality Director as the final arbitrator on critical quality decisions.
Knowledgeable on Risk Management and has demonstrated past decision-making utilising same.
Maintains and enhances cross-functional /site team relationships.
Is actively involved in continuous improvement and innovation from a preventative quality perspective.
Is an effective team member, fully motivated to achieve and demonstrate best practices in line with the department and site objectives.
Deals with cross functional groups and other engineering disciplines within and outside of the Site
Serves as a quality representative for the department in all internal / external Audits as functional expert.
Education & Experience:
Must hold an Hons Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Science related discipline.
A minimum of 5 years’ experience working at Engineering level, within the Medical Device industry or another highly regulated environment.
Familiar with Internal Audit Processes.
Team player and someone who is fully motivated to achieve and demonstrate best practices in line with the department and site objectives.
Ideally experience leading/mentoring a group or team of employees in the achievement of organisational goals.
